good for climbing,oh youre in ohio:(
Some times in BC there are hills to climb that are 8,10 or20 miles long,so people set up thier bikes to be comfortable for those rides:D

Yeah, the bars are currently a little more upright than most, but I'm still playing with the geometry a little so... At 6'5", it's hard to get it sussed just right. The angle of the shot also makes it look weirder than it is.
Actually, if you look at most of the bikes in the tour this year, it seems to be a trend as well, to have the levers a little higher on the bar. Once I find something comfortable I'll likely retape the bars.
As for drops, I haven't taken it over anything higher than 2" yet.......

Bunny-hopping a road bike (especially when you're clipped in) is effortless. I can easily hop up onto a 6" curb at speed w/o any thought.
Nice ride! The front end looks OK, but it looks like you should level the drops of the bar a teensy bit...but that's just my personal preference. Ultegra is the workingman's gruppo...the only thing Dura-Ace I want are those sexxxy cranks.

For sure you can get anywhere in-city quicker by bike, let alone the $$ you save on fuel, parking, etc.:coo:

It may look generic, but it's a scanndium frame, and as far as I know it's the only one of it's kind (especially at 63cm).

What you regard as tedium/boredom I refer to as solitude. IFO only assume that others around me on the roads intend on approaching me in a hostile manner (rarely disappointed). Of course road bikers are not cars, but they've been in existence far longer than cars. They do actually have a motor which is known as a human being (WTF is a froot booter?). This motor is much more fuel-efficient than an automobile engine.
As far as the being on the sidewalk goes, it seems that any time I DO ride on the sidewalk (to get a break from the aggressive bastards behind the wheel...on the cell phone...changing the radio station...ANYTHING BUT DRIVING:|), I have people telling me to get off the sidewalk & on the road.
Ironic, indeed.

the flat part of your drops should be angled to point at your rear brake.
your seat angle is strangely high in the fron too.
i would get professionally fitted if you haven't already. the bike will feel a million times better and so will you

irony indeed. when people tell me to get off the sidewalk i tell them to walk on the street, see how they like it. yea they dont know what to say back to that so its working nicely for me.:)

Something tells me you've been around here recently.
I usually just say "no!" or "why?"to 'em...otherwise I just laugh back at them hysterically.
In an effort to avoid thread-jackage, I agree w/ what Eddie says about the fitting...for sure fix the drops. It may feel good now, but in the long run it will take its toll on you in the form of tendonitis and/or nerve damage.

cause i like living, not getting hit by assholes, ive had a bad bad bad experience with riding on the road ( hence my foot long 2" wide scar on my leg) so till the day they make bike lanes everywhere- ill ride on the sidewalk..
also being h-core and airing off the slops in the concrete on sidewalks is funfun eh

As a downtown resident and one who walks or rides everywhere, I've got no problem with bikes on the sidewalk, so long as the riders give the pedestrians absolute right of way.
If you come barreling at high speed towards me expecting me to get out of your way, you will be seperated from your bike. Bikes belong on the road, but if you don't feel comfortable there, don't expect to hit top speed.

I saw a guy with the sweetest shirt ever last week while commuting (he was on a bike too)
It was yellow, with big black letters and said

Bloomer how can you find serenity on a ribbon of asphalt ;)
Sorry, but a peleton of 40-50 something year old guy's on they're color coordinated road bikes w/ matching spandon't all gabbing about how great they're starbucks is gonna taste...there's just something disturbing about it... wanna ride a road bike? sweet, go at it, I really don't care, personaly you'll never catch me on one of the infernal contraptions, but be warned, when I'm driving, I DO NOT yield to jackasses that are in the road doing 20mph...sorry Bloomer, it's just not in the cards, and no I'm not on the phone, and I'm not screwing with the radio... I do however enjoy the hundreds of raod bike I see every month on the side of the road changing flats  price to pay ;)
Ahh funny side story: Yesterday I was on my way back to the job site from lunch and as I turned a corner in a very tight neghiborhood, this guy on A Bianchi road bike apparently slipped a chain and litteraly hurned himself over the bars and slid about 15 feet, this guy had road rash EVERY WHERE...fortunately I had my Medi-pack with me and we got him cleaned up home in one piece although I'm sure he's sore as all get out. Let this be a lesson, Spandex has no place in a rational world...

Just like there's something wrong with packs of 13-year olds who wear all the latest baggy clothes from a BMX crossover company, and take hours to get down a trail as they clog it up while talking about how awesome they are, then walking their $6,000 bikes down a simple rock face. This rare occurence doesn't make MTN biking lame.
Every discipline has it's stereotypes, but you don't have to adhere to them just to participate. Case in point was yesterday when myself an another BB member went for a road ride with baggy shorts, DJ helmets, and tshirts. (neither of us are 40-50 somethings).
If you want to judge a sport, do so on it's merits, not on missguided perceptions.
