For some reason, I can't seem to take my crnakarms off my bike. They are super tight, and they wont budge.

How hard would I have to turn the allen key to take it off?

...and are there any special directions (clockwise/CC).???

Thanks.

do you mean you cant get the bolt out or the crank off? both the bolts are the same (clockwise = tighten)
you need a crankpuller once you get the bolts out

it's the bolts I can't get out
they are really tight

what are you using to get them out? if its just a regular 8mm allen key try putting a pipe on it so you get more leverage

u could also get some sort of move-it to spary in it and wait for a few mins and try.....but ralf wiggum has a good idea with the pipe for more leaverage!

I'm gonna try some WD-40 I guess then.

Use your handlebars as a pipe and slip one end over the allen key. :P

Take it to your local LBS to make sure you are doing everything correctly.

The last thing you want to do is wreck a nice set of cranks.

A seatpost makes a real convenient pipe

no, I think you mean the first batch of Hussefelts.
They are the ones that had the problems.

The Holzfellers are pretty bombproof. Infact, I haven't heard of any problems with them. I have a set that I've bashed the crap out of for over a year and they are still in amazing shape. And I bought them used.:D

Hmmm, a seatpost.

And No, Holzfeller's are NOT bad cranks.

It's the Hussefelts that kept breaking.

Ok, my cranks are off, but I don't know how to put them back on.

I can't use the crankpuller can I? is there such thing as a crank pusher?:???:

Should i get the shop to put them back on, because I'm getting them to do my BB.

Thats what the bolts do.
Line up the cranks, push them on by hand, and crank down the bolts.

ON is the easy part.

hhaha, there is no such thing as a ISIS crank installer tool...

but u could try to fool some sales guy at your LBS by asking for one...:D

just use the crank bolts, as they tighten it forces the crank arm to seat onto the splines...
