Today, Justin and I went out to the Surrey Bike Park. Wow. THat place is so much fun for two hacks like us. I didn't get to do much except cry that I was too scared to do ladders and things, but it was so much fun to try and get hurt! It was my VERY FIRST TIME on anything like that! Needless to say, if I can't do those at the park, I'm not shore ready. :)

Oh! And dirt jumps! It was the first time I've seen dirt jumps and tried them! OKay, I'm a little better at those than skinnies and riding on logs, but it was just as fun. My body is in a lot of pain and I can't wait until I can go there again and learn. I haven't had this much fun in ages. This biking thing is really starting to make me feel good, the best sport in the world.

We also hit up a BMX track later on in the day. We were exhausted, but it was still a lot of fun! Props to Justin for getting that monster off the ground at the dirt jump and the BMX track. I know I don't have the skill yet to lift it when I have trouble lifting my 27lbs hardtail. Wow...

I had so much fun riding today. I saw what I can do and what I need to work on and what I really want to do. :) KICK ASS.

I'm so happy right now. I was also confirmed for a job so now I have money to fuel this passion. :D Woohoo!!!! WOOHOO!!!

*jumps up and down*

Yeeeawww!!!!

Thats right, the hacks hit the bike park, and despite not conquering anything we had a good time. I did mange to get the Iron Maiden off the ground on the DJ's, the wee ones that is, and I did do some nice log rollers in the forest.

I still have a real mental road block to skinnies though, and I am still not carrying enough speed to clean some of the simple stuff, let alone the bigger stuff. But Dave and I will frequent that place as often as possible so that we can get the uber haxor skills too.

Mind you, when I get to Whistler on my bike, after I get the suspension dialed in, I'll finally be in my mental element, fast swoopy single track. with jumps, and rocks and roots. This skinny business, is still a bit testy to me. Props to Fiend for coming out, and giving us n00b's some tips and help.

And Dave now has a job. Look out bike shops, here comes a hungry man!!!!!

Sounds like a cool place to ride!

My knee is pretty good now too, so I'll be out for the urban this week.

South Surrey isn't bad but I thought most of the stuff seems kinda short. PM me if you guys ever want to ride there again, I'm in Cloverdale near the by-pass so not far off :D

Glad you guys liked it. I used to have a ball there learning how to ride skinnys. But ive been biking there almost a year and everything is easy and boring so us locals usually stick to the dirt jumps.
