Has anyone heard anything about the improvements that Manitou apparently has made to their SPV platform forks for next year? I had a little insider info that suggested that they have radically changed the SPV for 05. This 05 SPV is supposed to be as radical an improvement over this years as original SPV was over non-stable-platform forks.

I was just about to blow some dough on a Slider Plus but I'm thinking I might wait now?

i gather that the 05 will have more small bump sensitivity, if you ride dh it may be wise to wait, however if you huck the shore, it may not matter much. also a little more inside info re: next year prices are going up all over at least 15%. so if you like the slider + than get on it

It was posted awhile back that the 04 SPV internals would be upgradable to the 05 SPV internals. Difference being small bump performance...

"The new 2005 SPV Evolve damping system offers a noticeable improvement over last year's SPV system. The original SPV damping worked nicely to quell the motion of pedal-induced bobbing, but sacrificed small bump sensitivity as a result. That resulted in significant vibration transfer to the rider's hands and arms. This improved SPV system has been redesigned to offer better small bump sensitivity through a lower initial bump threshold (breakaway). After a long day on the trail you can certainly feel the improvement.", Manitou's Joel Smith.
