Finally, no more Doubletrack vs Mag30 arguments.

Why? They have exactly the same specs on the site.

On closer look, they have the singletracks rated at downhill, but the Doubletracks only rated ar freeride. Odd.

The old site didnt have the DT specs and the new one specifies that they are apparently the same. Go figure?

Weird that the Doubletracks are listed at the same weight as Mag30s. Also, IFO do you know what the comparison is from S-Type to the MTX? Is it like Doubletrack to Mag30?

It's because they are the same rim. One is welded and one isn't.

S-Type - pinned

MTX - welded

Same deal as the DT/Mag30.

I'm pretty sure that the Mags are drawn out of a different alloy. Aluminium alloyed with MAGnesium, perhaps? Hence the Mag name, Anyone got an answer?

The urban biking legend unfolds... an era of bikeshop double babble over the Mag30 being 'so much better' is at it's end. Sun finally allows the truth behind the fabled DoubleTrack out of the closet. After much debate and falsities abound...

they are the same damn rim give or take a weld.

:)
