So after being pillaged so many times by Elaine to go to IKEA and acquire furniture and accesories, I decided to have my way with her:grinno: I went to Cap's New West and have my bike tuned-up. She will acquire new tires, and a regular XT deraileur, no rapid rise shit, no more!!!:woot:
Then I met up with Elaine at MEC and I had my way with her again:dizzy: I picked up some equipment for us, so that our rides will be better. She now has this one-

I have this one-

I also bought a Park Tool, as all I ever had was an allen key set, and for the day we finally do a trip to somewhere, you just know that being a lady she'll have to have all of her needs. I don't mind at all, it just means that we have a standard rolling lugage unit, and one of these-

heeheeheeheeheehee, Shopping is fun, when I finally get the reigns. But I guess that tonight she'll have her way with me, oh boy:love:  :rawr:

That place is deadly. The only store I could easily spend an entire day in, aside from a bike shop maybe.
I work 2 blocks from MEC, down on 7th. I love that store. Time to buy myself my birthday present... new riding clothes :) That new big hydrapack looks cool too but I don't really NEED it. I wish MEC sold Bottom Brackets.

$5.00 gets you a lifetime membership. It gets you into the one store that you'd ever really need for almost any outdoor pursuit. I want to get soem climbing shoes next and do some bouldering! Majin, just go in there one day and check it out. You'll love it.

They give great mailorder... for 5.50$ you can't get there in person cheaper if you are way out in the burbs.
till july 24 they give free shipping on orders over 75$
I just spent 450$ on a state of the art kayak paddle
anybody checked out the replacement disc brake rotors? They got delta rotors ... 20$ for the 180mm and 31$ for the 180mm ,way cheap but are they any good?
Oh yeah if you spend enough they will give you a rebatet check base don how much you spent,I think my last check was 71$

Go to Cambodian Tire and buy an $8 CCM puncture resistant tube. I have had 2 pinch flats in the past 2+ years I have been riding them. One was from riding through blast rock, the other was from slamming my rear tire on a poorly timed bunnyhop over a log.

well, i hate to be a damper, but i actually kinda hate MEC's stuff. It's functional, but not spectacular, and i've found with riding clothes/parts, it just pays to pay more for the good stuff.
all there stuff is like kool stop brake pads...sure it does the job, and at half the price, but it doesn't last for shit.
i've got a 20% discount there and i still don't buy there (except derailleurs and tools). i like the co-op idea, and i'd love to support it, but when it comes to freeriding, their stuff isn't tough enough.
