Bike theft here in Squampton is getting bad. It really is turning into the ghetto. Today a guy came into tantalus asking about a bike and took it out for a test ride in the parking lot, and test rode it all the way home, never to be seen again. It seems like every day at work another family or person is coming in to replace a bike that was stolen. If the person or people are ever found running this bike theft ring (and it is a ring, not random acts of theft) They aren't going to be happy. They will be so sore from the beatings, they won't be able to lift there crack pipes to there mouths. Basically, if you are riding in Squam, or just stopping for a bite to eat on the way to ride GARBANZO, lock your bike up, and keep an eye on it.

The shop didn't get a driver's license or credit card before letting the guy go for a test ride?:???:

yeah whistler went through that about 10 - 12 years ago . .. .. .
bike theft pisses me off .
thieves , for god sakes , look at your lives . you are taking something away from some one that DOES NOT BELONG to you . okay ? get a life . find a way to make your way in the world that does not take away from some one elses WORK . got that ? some one elses' WORK . every one gets a shitty hand , once in awhile , but don't make someone else suffer for YOUR PROBLEM .
bicycles should solve problems , not be the source of them . . . .

Last year my bro got his bike stolen from outside of Mamquam school. My parents bought him a new one and a new lock. It got stolen the next day- these guys are profesionals!!! Luckely the frame was returned to Tantalus with no scratches or dents. You guys need to set up a few bait bikes and then watch them to see who nabs them and where they go.
Its the small town idea that they are praying on, thinking that you know everyone and that things are safe.

The smaller the town, the bigger the hicks
Even towns like Nelson that are total hippy zones have problems with bike theft even without a big res nearby

Can someone explain to where these stolen bikes go? I don't know who's buying hot bikes (and very, very high-end ones at that) nor have I seen any for sale - so what's going on? Where are these bikes ending up and who's buying them? Where are they riding them? You would think someone would recognize their bike in the lift line at Disney land or beating the trails of the NS, but I never hear it happening. Are they going to Manitoba? Someone please fill me in.
They usually take them apart, then sell them to pawn shops and stuff. never complete, never straight to the public.
p.s. They also ship them to Manitoba :P

Oh yeah, I work at the House of Commons. If I ever find that moron, he's got a date with the ugly stick...
