Who reads it? I bought last falls edition and thought it was awesome. Then i bought the new spring edition and it has changed alot. It is more like maxim than anything else. They said they are trying to reach a broader base of people. I think it sucks.
ANd in the letter section someone writes in saying that he has a 96 rockhopper and he wants to get a freeride bike and that he has 3000 bucks.
And they say if you are riding a bike from 96 you probably wont be getting the bike in the air very much and then they tell him that he should get a nice xc full suspension and then they tell him to start reading Mountainbiking magazine.
I don't like flow anymore.

There is lots of cool picutres but most of the articles suck. and there is alot more sexier related content. Like one of the main articles is aobut a chick who makes old bikes into erotic art by putting whips and leather and dildo's on them.
I'm cool with sex and hot chicks but if wanted to read about that stuff i would buy maxim.

flow officialy SUCKS now in my opinion. I use to love it and think it was the best magazine around, hands down. If I want to look at beautiful girls I will pick up a Maxim or a freaking Playboy. When I buy a biking magazine, I expect to see pages of bike components, bike reviews, and half decent articles, not a barely clothed girl taking up a full page.

Agreed. Decline and 26 aren't bad, probably the best 2 going. LAUNCH was the best, I'd love to see that get rolling again.

Flow, bit the bullit and it kept going, right thru the brainstem...
That said, I had e-mailed Scott from Decline/TwentySix, an dI gave him serious props to sticking to his guns, and going for it on his own He took the braintrust with him, and between them they have a seriously excellent set of magazines. Challenge Publications (Flow and Mountain Biking) have fallen off the planet, and if they don't return then thats fine with me

danny has a full page pics of Gulevich in flow
I wish Launch was stil around. they had good articles and everything. i wish there was a pure freeride/DH magazine out there. No XC. Maybe decline is like that, i am not to sure. I jsut dont like seeing pics of people riding bikes on the road or read about it. I wanna read and see pics of jumping and freeiriding and stuff:thepimp:

The best thing about this edition of flow is the fox shock ad on the inside cover. Notice the NSMB.com sticker on the back of the van.

I have no idea what the guys at Flow were thinking. They had the best bike mag last year. Then I pick up the first issue this year and all it is, is a flippin skin mag. Come on guys, at least show them riding some sort of bike on a trail. Dam if someone wants skin i am sure they are going to pick up a mag with a hell of a lot more skin than what Flow has.

I agree that the new flow has a lot of garbage and very little actual biking content. Everyone should email the editor with some constructive criticism, roman@challengeweb.com

Don't put bike in there dude. It is completely different than anything out there. Although I have not picked up Decline or 26. Decline is always sold out when i go to get it. But I love reading Bike, and when people come over and use the "throne" they always come out with my Bike mag saying "people actually do this shit on a Mtn. Bike!"

That's just stupid.

pps I like Bike, personally.

Bike's annual Photo Mag is sweet!!!! I'll give em that, other than that, seems just like the rest of em..... you should check out 26 and decline.. 26 would be Bike's competitor since it has some XC stuff in it also...

The original guys at Flow, jumped ship and went on to become H3 Publications. Decline is the only all FR, DH, 4X, Urban, DJ, etc. Magazine in north america. TwentySix is more of an all-round mag. Bike on the other hand, will always have the best stories in it though.
