just trying it for kicks. the frame design doesnt require a tensioner for ss, so its a super toight clean & simple setup. should be able to get away with one gear @ whistler...

Awesome, i would love to take one of those for a burn one day. Tell us how it rides please.

I think your polka dot trimble had a nicer paint job though :P

Gold Nipples....

Nice job with the color coordination I guess.

You rotor should be flipped over, the arms should always hit the caliper at 90 when theyre turning, that way your rotor wont go all funky when it heats up.

this one? its not polka dotted anymore (tho the paint changed on a monthly basis. ) - that must've been 13 (!)years ago back in the UVIC days - do i know you??

hmmm... i've always run those rotors like that & they've never warped or squealed...

hope rotors can be run both ways

and your theory sucks, it doesnt matter which way the rotors run :S it will still be 90 degrees :S

very nice. tmx's can be built up quite light and that looks to be the way to do it. what fork is that?

xy9ine
06-26-2004, 11:39 PM
the fork is a white brothers dh2.0. 8" travel; about 7 3/4lbs. fantastic fork. pretty hard to build a tmx very light, even with gucci parts. my v10 was ~42 lbs with very similar parts spec; this feels closer to 50. rides amazingly for an older design.

yeah i meant "light", as in relatively speaking. white bros forks are light and the wheels don't look like they're made of iron. true there's not much you can do about the frame. love your ride man, real nice

Whats is that wheelset?

I've seen them before, but have no idea what they are.

Don't look particularly strong.

tioga rims. very light. pretty strong for their weight, but definately more racer than thrasher.

thanks, eddie. the weight really isnt that noticeable - light wheels make a big difference, and the bike pedals *really* well (the jackshaft works). i'm stoked about this bike - had my first rides this weekend (whistler & shore); the suspension is supple & the bike just feels solid & confidence inspring. sweet sweet frame.
