The Shed Bike Club has been ratified as a society recently and our proposal was passed 6-1 by Delta Council on Monday.

Background on the said proposal was to have one B-line through the park that could demonstrate a sustainabilty of the trail with minimal impact to the environment and other user groups. Also, thats a very brief background on it. The society-ship entails much more from the members of the Club. Details on that will follow eventually. Then depending on the outcome of that trail and general reports from the Club, Parks People and user groups, more trails could be allowed in the Future.

Those familar with the park, the B-line that will be under reconstruction soon is Simons to the Goat Jumps to Goats on to Stairway and then down to B.M. Info on trail days will follow shortly.

PLEASE do not go digging or building anywhere in the Shed if you're reading this. We, the Shed Bike Club, will tear it down anything outside of the B line and that also does not mean you can build on that line.

I have to say this as it could be very detrimental to the Club's relationship with City Council and undermine the work that Brett, Gary and Chris have done with this.

Other than that, The B-Line is not a Whistler type B-line for the record.

damn rights, i cant wait to help out and revive the shed to its former glory. this "b-line" is gonna be sweet too. all the efforts combined into one trail is going to make for an awesome exhibition of what bikers can do and show them that we arent here to harass people or wreck the enviroment.

How is the Watershed for riding these days?
I have a friend who wants to do some XC riding and she's never been out there. I haven't been there in 3 years or so... are there still trails that can be ridden on, or did Delta Parks and Rec put cattle guards and other pedestrian control devices on all the trails?

it's still clear for general xc path riding..

Does the club have a web page?

No website at the moment but it is something we're working at getting together. Nothing fancy either - from what we've talked about, just a info page and notice of events. So most likely strictly an html based page with Shed related info and details.

Thanks, when you guys get a site, post the URL.

I live a long distance away, so I don't ride there often (~3 times a year), but my wife enjoys riding there.

A decent trail map of the park would be a way to draw traffic to the club's site.

I spent some time in there this morning with Brett and simon. Started working on Simons. We are going to be putting in the EASY lines first. This is for political reasons and also to make the trail fully flowable again. Plese don't be getting all uptight with " what's this crappy easy shit you're building" comments. Harder more fun lines will follow.

On a side note, it really feels wierd to be building in there legaly  No more worrying about people or officialdom get on your case.

Also some signs will be going up that say " trail work in progress" with a map of b-line and the delta city logo etc. they look really good and official.:D

hey y'all, The beginner line on Simon Says is now for the most part done and it looks mint, the way things should be done:D

It is a very easy line but just wait till you see what the harder line is gonna like. The begining stuff is still there

Al, i think we are gonna do sumthing different with the hard line;) you know the line i was kinda joking about, well instead of a step-up onto that last log, it's gonna be a roll-down, cross the easy line then a hip onto the old hip roller that will be built up if you can imagine that. But everyone, this will take some time so be patient.

Yeah, like Al said, it's kinda weird not having to hide behind bushes or logs when you hear people go by:P

So if anybody gets a chance to head in there for a ride, let us know what you think so far and hopefully more stuff can get put up but remember, right now until we get our insurance, the only building can officially be done by the exects. sorry.:o

As for a full public trail, that probably won't happen till september, again, because we need the insurance first. But until then, just get out and ride:D

Errrrr.... I'm itching to help build...

I'd never feel the need to be totally in charge of my own project, but just the chance to help you guys out with menial tasks would be great..

If you need ANY help, let me know :)

What do you mean by fully public trail?

If the new stuff at Simon says is ridable, can we ride it?

yes you can, but one of the things that we are urging everybody is to check out somthing before you ride it.

As for helping out, e-mail brett and tell him that you are one of the guys that helped build Stairway. Brett had e-mailed Mike, but he hasn't responded and that was it, we were actually talking about you today. Brett wants to give you guys the opportunity to be more envolved, especially with Stairway whether it's with designing or building or just helping, we really want to get you guys involved too, so e-mail him at shedbikeclub@hotmail.com

SWEET!!! It sounds like a good thing is going on there. If there will be a public trail maintenance, post up, and I'll be there. The 'Shed is such a sweet place to ride for all levels, it's so good to see some positive things happening!

Dope... Yeah Mike likes to take credit for the work, but we built the original thing TOGETHER...

He went crazy and started doing the offshoot (high skinny) thing, but we built the trail together..

Mike's really busy at work lately and barely ever comes on the internet anymore..

I'll give Brett a shout, and if I ever see Mike i'll let him know. I don't know how cooperative he'd be building something he isn't totally planning :)

Y'allz know about all the arguments that happened...
