Wasn't it supposed to have an MRD X-Works Dorado with SPV?

No SPV? I'm out. :D

A special ride needs ground-breaking suspension. How about a 2005 Dorado DH? It has the beefed up uppers of the MRD X-works (carbon fibre of course!) but without SPV technology. Despite the larger diameter uppers the fork is said to weigh half a pound less than the current Dorado. This fork is so new it isn't even on the Answer Products Web site yet.

Yeah SRAM! I love that stuff almost as much as my 888. Shimano can take their proprietary "works only with Shimano" crap and shove it. I would of changed over sooner, but I'm not a grip shift type of guy.

Unfortunately Manitou is behind in production of the SPV fork and we couldn't get it in time.

Danger Dan is using the fork the AIRprentice gets and he gave it a glowing review.

Sorry Cam. My mind is made up. If it's not SPV, then I'm out. You'll have to give the bike to someone else.

That bike is unbelievable. I know a lot of people that would eat crap for that bike. The only thing I would change is the cranks.

We'll cross that bridge when and if we come to it.

Most likely we'll arrange a frame swap with a shop.

That is a nice bike Cam....Looking forward to see which lucky guy or girl gets to ride away into the sunset on their new steed.

Pretty swanky reward for making the NSMB team...which is very laid back.

Any ladies trying out??

See ya all Saturday bright and early, bring food we ain't stopping all day!!

That is one amazing ride for sure!!! I can’t wait until this Saturday to try out for that steed. NSMB has gone nuts with this competition. This is going to be one to remember!

I do have one question. In the morning is there going to be people looking over these resumes to pick the 12 riders? I’m not to clear on that part if someone could fill me in that would be great.

Thanks

Matt

Yes Matt the top 12 riders will be chosen the morning of the event. All contestants are asked to bring their resume and pictures to the event at 8am. We will have a tent set up at the bottom of the hill inbetween the GLC and the lift.

Don't listen to Colin...We have an awesome lunch planned at the chic Pea, right at the top of the new chair...
That of course doesn't mean he won't abuse the contestants all day long...Colin is a tough guy to keep up to!

Looking forward to seing everybody up there for this!

I am uber stoked.

I've been giving this some thought and I would definitely eat crap to have that bike.

I can't believe how much stuff NSMB is giving out for this contest. Lots of pro/sponsored riders don't even get that much swag. Props to NSMB.

Does the rider keep both bikes or do they have to return them at the end of the season?

That P3 on todays main page AND the Demo 9.

Any of you young hot shots who don't get up to Whistler for this one has to have rocks in your head.

The bike doesn't have eyes...

or does it.

I wish I could honestly try out, but I don't think I stand a chance:( How does the 05 dorado compare with the older design? I would like to know, is it worth getting a 03/04 for $1200 or the new one for $2000?

the new Dorado DH uses the MRD uppers and 32mm stnactions...

so it'll be stiffer and stronger, esp given the new crown designs...

they are super burly...

but the 180mm DH Dorado still uses TPC+ damping so it'll feel liek the older Dorado's...

althou it is running the semibath oil design now...
