2nd place, 3 seconds off of Greg Minnaar.
Honourary Canadian Shaums March was 4th, roughly 5 seconds back of Dustin.

He gets all kinds of attention. He's in a ton of videos, I've seen lots of pics of him in magazines, interviews, etc.

Kind of ironic, don't you think?
1st place -- South African
2nd -- Canadian
3rd -- New Zealand
4th -- American ( but no US company seems to value him so he's riding a Canadian bike, and is married to a sweet canadian girl, and calls Squampton home. He's a Canuck in my book)
5th -- Aussie
and its the US national series.
Discuss.

Another thing that some people might not understand, why was Greg Minnar Riding at a Norbra instead of a World Cup?
the black flash

Minnaar owns last year's overall Norba DH title and feels that if you hold a title you should respectfully defend it. Hopefully next year's planning committee's for each series can plan their calendar's a little better to avoid Norba/World Cup overlap weekends.
Sounds like Dustin had a kick-ass race - he took about 14 seconds off his qualifying time (which was 1st) in the finals as the last rider down the mountain and came a few seconds short of Minnaar in the end.

I was thinking the same line of thought when he won the race at SP a couple yrs back....his time for that course was SICK for someone at my skill level at the time:eek:
Painless

to put things into perspective:
watch his segment in rise.....
he seems to be faster on his bike than his motocross.
Plus, I rememeber ripping down sun peaks dh course thinking I had a great time....then he came along and humbled everyone.
Way to go Dustin, obviously this is one fan who respects your roots.

1) The Southern Hemisphere is kicking ass in gravity events - must have to do with the fact that they figured out how to cling on to the bottom of the earth.
2) Shaums and Aleisha(?)'s kids will grow up and dominate any extreeeeeeeeeme sport they enter.
3) The US usually gets shitkicked on home turf in XC too - I used to love reading how pissed off Zap got about that. Even better was when a few journos down there started referring to Roland Green as a "North American".
4) Shaums gets around, and may not always figure as the huge star in the movies he's in, but his credits are numerous, not to mention his race/event results. In fact, of everyone in the bike biz, not many pros have it figured out better than March.
