Hi Everyone:
I have a stock 2003 Kona Stuff and I went to repair a flat tire today. When I tried to remove the tire I noticed that there was no tube in it and that the tire and the tube were one and the same! I clearly remember reading that this was a tubed tire. I'm guessing that this is actually a tubed tire but not the traditional kind and that the entire tire must be replaced if it cannot be patched? (Forgive my ignorance, I've just never encountered tires like these before.)

Umm...
I don't think the 2003 Kona Stuff has tubeless tyres.
Don't they have Tioga Factory DHs and Sun Ditch Witches? If so... I don't see why it shouldn't have tubes.
Umm, more info needed. Go to your bike and see what tyres and rims you have (if your tyres are from Michelin, or Hutchinson, chances are you may actually have tubeless tyres.
If it is tubeless system, you can either get a new tyre (tubeless tyres), or find the hole in your tyre, patch it like you would with a regular tube.

It also might be that there is some glue or something like that to hold it in place. I had the same thing with my old Love tire. When the tube popped and I tried to replace it, the tube was stuck in it and I had to literally pull it out. Try taking off the tire completely from the rim and try pulling the tube out. If that doesnt work, goto your shop and ask what they would do or what the dillyo is.

Did your tire and tube look as though they were one-piece?

You're saying that Tioga Factory DHs don't have tubes in them because those are the tires and rims I have?
Never mind.

Are you sure that the tube isn't just stuck to the inside of the tire? This can happen if a lot of moisture has gotten in there and dried out.
Give the tube a hard yank and see what happens. I very much doubt that your Stuff came stock with a tubeless tire setup.

Agreed. The tube often sticks to the inside of my tire.
after yanking the tube out of the inside of your tire, put some baby powder in there before re-installing the fresh tube
