I have an 04 super t but I have an offer from this guy for a straight trade for his 03 shiver. Ok... I know I will be taking a hit on weight but what about performance and durability of the fork? I normaly do a mixture or northshore and whistler, but more shore. My main concern is trading for a year that is older, could be issues with warrenty. But on the other hand the shiver would look good on my RM7, maybe I am just a parts whore:P So... if there is anybody who has rhode both forks I would like to hear some feedback to help me with my decision. Thanks.

I've ridden both and prefer the Shiver. Inverted forks are super smooth and very responsive. It is a bit heavier, but it was a non-issue for me.
I have had my Shiver (03) for just over a year and have not done a single thing to it beyond the initial oil change after I broke it in.
Great fork. Both good forks.

I would do it for sure, sounds like a sweet deal, the super is a nice smaller travel fork, so if u want something a little shorter and lighter and more agile u might want to keep it, but the shiver is a sick fork, so smooth, i dont think anything on the market matches it's small bump sensitvity. if the fork is uber abused i wouldntt do it, but if it looks good go for it.

The guy is sending me some pics today. He said that it is pretty clean and he has only used it a handful of times it is just too heavy for him.

What about warranty for the shiver. It is an '03, does anybody know anything about marzocchi warranties? I know that I won't have any problems with my super but I am not sure about the shiver.
last I checked Marzo had a very bad 1 year warrenty.
Go for the shiver for sure. 04 Super T's have downgraded internals for the 03's :(

Most suspension products have a one year warranty for the original owner.
You have nothing either way.
Warranty only covers manufacturer defects, something you won't have to worry too much about on a fork like that. If it was defective, it would not have survived this long.
Shiv's have a solid reputation.
just be sure the steerer tube is long enuf... and the top crown will work with your frames headtube lengtht...
other then that, i'd go for it...:thepimp:

Even if the Shiver was still under warranty, it most likely only applies to the original owner. The warranty does not transfer to you.
I'd still go for the Shiver though.

Take the shiver provided it's in good shape. It is a great fork. You will be happy with it riding the shore.

I don't think length will be a problem. It is coming off a v10, but I will ask just to make sure;) Also I was worried about losing some agility with the bigger heavier fork. But I can't see it being a big problem it might be just a matter of getting used to it.
inverted forks tend to "feeel" lighter at teh wheel actually..
my MRD Dorado is hugely flickable compared to the 888 it replaced...even thou they arent a ton of weight difference, its all a matter of wher the weight is located i find...

Ok I just saw the photos and there is nothing that I can see wrong with it. The only problem or potential problem is that the steertube is only 6" but it will come with the integrated stem. It will go on my 03 rm7 simmons. So I don't know if this will fit. I measured my headtube with headset and it was just over 5 1/2" it sounds like it might be too short but I will call cove tomorrow and ask.

My bad. He said in the email that it will accept up to a 6" headtube. I read it as a 6" steertube. Well it looks like I will make the trade. Thanks everybody for the help!

Deal didn't go through. I was suposed to meet the guy today for the trade but instead I got an email this morning saying that he will be selling it for cash to some other guy. A little disapointed
