so i will be ordering my new snipes Elemental next week or so, ive only ridding dual 26"s and find them perfectly fine but i see alot of people riding dual 24"s now. the bike will be for urban riding. what my question boils down to is what are the disadvantages and advangtages of either one. or if it comes to personal preference what do you guys prefer?

there are 876543567890 posts on this subject. probably easier to do a search.

but anyway… i have dual 24s on my street bike. they're stronger than 26s, slightly lighter, and i like the nimbleness and flickiness and the quick acceleration. you can usually run a shorter wheelbase this way too, if you have horizontal dropouts, which has many advantages.

when i get a bigger trail bike i'll run 26/26 for sure. in gnarl there's an advantage to the bigger diameter because it rolls stuff better, and of course the higher bb position. but for street i don't believe there's anything to be gained by it.

ive been runnin dual 24's on my ht and just love it. will never put 26" wheels on a ht or urban/steet bike. from what i heard if you take 24" wheel and put a 3.0 tire it works out ruffly to the ame diameter as a 26" wheel with a 2.1 tire.

I have dual 24s on my Snipes and I love it. Definately go dual 24s unless the bike absolutely only for DH riding.

Id go for the dual 26 definatly, They roll faster and i personally like the feel alot more. Also running a 3.0 tire on a urban bike is stupid its way to heavy actulaly there to much for anything.

woudlnt duel 26 roll slower but have a higher top speed and duel 24s roll faster but not have as high of a top speed i dont think its very noticable tho, just get a bike with very short stays like 15.5 and run duel 26's feels better but if uve got longer stays then i say 24 :) only run a 2.125 at max for urban

why the hell would you be worried about going fast for urban :???:

you want quick acceleraton and small light strong wheels

i found my energy was drained alot more when i had dual 26, and then now with 24s its much easier, you def notice how fast you take off, but never will you notice your top speed decline.
