This is a heads up to let you know that the lower part of Empress will be cleared for new houses in March 2003.

A new trail will be built with a planned completion during the summer. The new trail will not be open until a bridge is constructed over Taylor Creek.

The NSMBA will be having extra trail days to build this trail. People will be notified when these days occur if you wish to help out.

Thanks!
Sharon.

Yeah, how far below the last rock face are we talking about? That is too bad, its a fun trail. Though I am sure the new one will be cool too.

I think the last rock face is still part of the trail. Right after that will be someone's back yard. So the small drops just after the last rock face are gone.

Rat -you should look into buying the lot so we can put a hot tub in the back and watch ppl bail off the rocks

Its always been a dream of mine to have a house on the shore where I could build an A frame over the fence into my back yard.

I hope I win the lotto

If I am not working you know I am there, we are "supposedly" cutting back on overtime....LOL I'll believe that when it actually happens.

my wife and I are looking for spots to buy---maybe this would be the one! You would have to air my back yard tho. Wait - it would be right on golf course wouldn't it? Forget it - out of our price range. Gearwhore - get some info...

tell them to put all the trees they molest and put em in a big pile for us trail builders to use!!!!!!

im serious if we cant cut em down, let the city do it for us.

that is also flamigly gay that they are building houses there cant they go somewhere else?

You know what, that is actually a great idea. Why can't the NSMBA salvage some of the smaller trees to be used for trail work? They could be stored up the mountain somewhere.....I'd even haul them up fer nuthin" I know the big stuff would be sold, too much money in that to be given away, but imagine how much usable stuff we could get for the stuff we build. Sharon? Lee? Think it's possible?

unfortunately, some of the developers revenue includes the trees. They cut them down and sell them to the mills.

Did you read my post? I said the big stuff would go to the mills, the smaller stuff that is still usable to us is ususally ground up or burned, they won't waste the time to take it to the mills. Believe me they are not going to take an 8" cedar log to a mill if there are only like 20 of them to take. A lot of them will just get pushed over by dozers and piled up. If we could get some of the stump pieces, and some of the small logs that would be great. It's amazing how much good lumber is wasted by developers.

Cool Shar, and even if we can just take some of the stumps for rung material that would be great too, anything helps. I can throw my racks in my truck and can haul about a cord of wood (depending on how wet it is). They have to pay to have that stuff hauled, so if we can "save them money" maybe they'll at least give it a thought. Plus it might make the NSMBA and the biking community look a little better at the same time :D

yes, they have already cut the property lines for the houses, there are big about 3 meter wide alley ways running through the forest of chopped bushes and trees

thats so gay. if they want to cut down trees that people use for a real purpose and cut them down and sell them to make tons of money making houses, the least they could do is give something back to the community they are trashing for their own profit.

god damn hypocrits
