i wanna sell my spare rear wheel so i can afford a whistler seasons pass.

it's a mavic d321 rim, silver spokes, ringle SOS abbah DH hub with the 12mm thru a xle (the kind that go through your frame with pinch bolts on the frame, super stiff), 8" hayes rotor, SRAM cassette.

is 300$ a good price to ask? i wanna have it basically pay off ym seasons pass but i'm unsure of a good price? i've been told that the hub alone is like 500$ but who knows, i got the same wheel on my bike just with a 521 and it was tough deciding to sell it cause the hubs wicked so I wanna get as much coin as i can.

problem is most bikes that requie that style of hub already come with them...

so u really limit the customer base u can expect to have knocking on your door..

unless you list the rear wheel for les then its actual value...

i'd say let it go for about 250$... that way u dont miss to much of the Whistla season waiting for your wheel to sell...

I remember hearing something about the dish on wheels for the DH Team frame was different than most, so a guy with a Norco Team Race for instance couldn't run it without retruing it at minimum.

Can someone elaborate?

The SRAM cassette is worthless unless you are going to give them your chain and front rings, or its new. Otherwise their driveline is gonna skip like crazy.

Nobody is going to pay $300 for a used rear wheel, and I doubt you'll get $250 for it. It's a shame because it's nice stuff, but I'd be suprised if you get over $200 for it.

The quickest way to answer your question would be to look in the buy and sell and get an idea of what equivalent packages are going for. It will give you a more accurate idea of the market value. Here you are going to get 50 different opinions and no answer.

Put it in for $250. If it doesn't sell and you get no emails in a week or two, odds are you are askig too much and need to drop the price. If it sells in 3 days and you get 20 emails, odds are you could have got more for it :P

ATN,

the dish on a wheel is adjustable. It is built with a dish on the Giant DH as the rear end of the bike is assymetrical.

That's what I said I thought?

Different spoke lengths or tensions are needed to move where the rim is?

Wheel dish is not adjustible.. You need to calcualte for it when finding spoke legnth by adding it to one center to flange distance on the hub, then subtracting it on the other. If you just try to manually dish it with the incorrect spokes you wheel will not be very strong as one side will have to be tight and the other will have to be loose.

I think that was implied. There is no adjustment on your wheel to change the dish. I think he meant that the dish is not determined by hub and rim alone. Obviously you ultimately achieve the perfect dish for a particular frame by what length of spokes you choose and how you build/tension the wheel.
