Looking at some FS frames and was wondering what you guys thought. Which would be the better buy?

1. SC Bullit
2. Kona Stinky Delux
3. Banshee Chaparall
4. Norco A-Line
5. Davinci Wilson or ollie

Don't want a massive hucking bike, need something for pure downhill fun...Whisler style stuff. Probably maxing out at 7' drops.

This is for a future purchase...I just picked up a Morphine to learn with. I only have a couple of seasons under my belt so I needed something that wouldn't break the bank and wouldn't break from my badass messups. So by the time I get one I should have ironed out my technique. Maybe I should check into this then, but Im curious.

of all those my bet would be the bullit... im probably biased cause i have one, but even so, you will never break it, and the nimble feel they offer is great.

I personally would go for a Banshee or a Bullit. Both are super well made bikes and hold up to a hell of a lot. PS: Pip is teh ownage.

Yeah, Id snag a Bighit over an A-Line, Stinky, Or Chap any day...

I do find though that at speed they tend to get a bit unstable, whereas the Devincis tend to shine at speed and in the corners. For Shore type riding though BigHits are great, as they have nice tight cockpits. Theyre both totally different frames, and I wouldnt say one was better than the other.

Though if you compare a bighit expert to a 8-flat-8 in terms of parts spec (8-flat-8 retails for $200 more) , the Bighit is pretty weak.

my friend put a 888 on his bighit comp and after turning and his fork hitting the frame (with bumpers!) the frame dented slightly on both sides! watch out for that!

airborne-is that the 788 or the 888 on that 8-flat-8?

forget banshee. my friends scream is falling apart. there's always something wrong with it. his roomate just got a stinky deluxe a couple months ago and it's fuckin nice with a shiver. the guy on the kona is a way better rider though so i guess that could have something to do with it. but they've come to the conclusion that banshees are wannabe konas. even the cnc styling on the linkage plates are practically the same.

the A-line looks pretty damn cool.

Uhhh OK? :???:

For $200 more than a Bighit Expert you get a better headset, Aircorp wheels, a full Easton Cockpit, WTB tires and seat, E.13 Chainguide, 150mm Through axle Hub, Sram X.7 triggers, and a frame Hand Welded in Canada...

Maybe you and your friend should try pricing out a Demo9 Pro...$6000 and youre still getting HFX-9s....

Dont forget out the Transition Dirtbag...sweet bike. My choice of the bunch.

I'd go Wilson, tons of adjustability, pedals well, has good suspension and almost no brake jack...second choice would be Chaparral, good solid "play" bike. My last choice would be the Bullit, it's a simple, single-pivot design so at speed, you're gonna get some brake jack

ummm a BIGHIT expert isnt over 4000$...i pretty sure Dizzy is selling them for 3700$...

and the Demo9 pro was 5600$...

while the Devinci has some good parts it seemed like alot of cash.. i thought they started under 3000$... ???

Well Pricing goes like This:

BH comp $3000
BH Expt. $3300
D9 Pro $5600
8-Flat-8 $3600
Ollie $4500
Wilson $5400

These are all tag prices, they go down quite a bit if youre buying.

Nelson, noooooo go for the .243!!! Hahahaha, we'll be the devinci/.243 twins :P Just Kidding...

As for the real question, I am a devout Devinci fan, although if I had mucho moolah I'd be into a couple of dualy's for sure. I would look into the 8Flat8. It has some serious spec, and it's just plain sweet.

i was also a little dissapointed with the price of the new devinci's.sure, they come well spec'd,but they also come with a massive price tag.

When i was looking at getting a new frame, i took a good look at a devinci frame only. Then, I put on my glasses, noticed how ridiculously high the frame only price was and went the way of a bullit.couldn't have been happier.:)
