I've noticed that the pedal insert on the left side of my Hussefelt cranks is starting to come unthreaded from the crank arm. On the drive side, the pedal insert sits flush with the crank arm, but on the other side, it's sticking out by at least a couple of millimetres.
Is it supposed to be like this? I don't remember it being like that when I first got the bike. How am I supposed to fix it? Thanks.

happened to my buddy. He brought it to the LBS and then send that arm out to truvativ. Didnt cost him a cent, just a week or so.
ask HRELP about that...
he had that happen to both sides of his Hussy's...
he now has Saint cranks...i beleive that was his solution to the problem...
i dont think u can fix it, as the metal insert isnt supposed to come out...

Mine came out.. I just lock tited it back in and it worked fine and if u cant get it out what you do is grind 2 flat sides on the insert and then use that to get grip from a wrench or a vice and turn.. dosent nothing just put it back in :D

It was pretty simple to get it back in. I just used a wrench to tighten the pedal axle, and it threaded the insert back in.

Send it back for warranty.
It is in most cases caused by over tightening your pedals. Get it warrantied now before you need to change your pedals because you will have this same problem happen again if you ever decide to try and remove the pedal.
Seems you have had nothing but problems with your bike.
Headset/Crank/fork/brake/X7spec with helmet etc

Maybe I'm just a whiny bitch about my bike...
I suppose I should send it back for warranty, despite how much I don't want to. It's only been a week since I got it back from the fork warranty. Bah.

Its stripped and has to be warrantied.
Your best bet is to send it in for warranty, then sell them to your LBS, and then getting holzfellers.
Truth be told, hussefelts are garbage.

The steel insert is threded into the cranks, youll find if you try to take your peddle off the insert will come out with it. Dont worry too much about it, the thredlocker they use is fairly poor anyway. Just undo the insert the whole way, put some loctite 262 on it, screw it back in and leave it over night. Should be nice and snug after that.

If you have to send it in for warranty and they find grease/locktite or anything else in the inserts they wont warranty them. The reason they come loose is because the cranks themselves strip easily because of the lower end aluminum.

I'll keep riding them for now, and if I notice it becoming unthreaded again, I'll contact the shop and see what they have to say. I'm not too sure that the cranks are actually stripped. When I tightened it back up, I managed to get it snug. Anyway, if it gets worst, I'll send it in for warranty. I want to get in a bit more riding before parting with my bike, again.
Honestly, I wish I'd get something in return for the troubles I've had with my bike. For crying out loud, my old GT took more of a beating before I had any troubles with it.

so long as you don't ride the cranks with insert loose, or not seated, it is fine to glue it back in.
i swapped pedals almost a year ago and it came out with the pedal. put it in a vise, cranked the pedal out. cleaned all threads, mixed up some epoxy, applied liberally, threaded the insert back in the cranks arm by hand as far as possible. finsihed tightening by installing new pedal.
they stay in now, and changing pedals ain't no problem. been fine after many 13-15 ft drops to flat on a hardtail. (bent tho :D )
i am teh uberhack. :thepimp:
