i like how you're giving it the illusion of 3 dimensions but the 'two' gets a little garbled up. i like the first one with the cube like effect a lot better. it's a cool concept and i can totally see it as some sort of skater, biker, snowboard type logo. i'd like to see this one with some solid colors instead of the embossed look. the distortion of the text would be cool if it served a purpose or communicated an idea, like if there were a silohetted rider going down the slope, or taking a drop off the M onto the I as a tranny. something to give the distortion some purpose.
you're good with the digital apps it seems so i'm thinkin you're well on your way to developing something that'll look nice and pro. keep experimenting, don't mind the haters.

im not a hater. im just going to point some stuff out.
firstly, its good you see some of your mistakes. it is well too distorted. set your text on smooth or crisp beforehand. secondly, it is too plain. you need a focal point seeing as there isnt much contrast between the midas22 stuff and the background. maybe you were going for that effect? im not sure, but seems a little....poor. thirdly, it needs a purpose. but that should come from you, i cant help there. keep refining your skills and you should be good. play around and accept the criticism.

RoBurban: Solid text, no beveling, embossing, nothing. Jaggies gone too. Didn't put in a rider for you though.

hmmm.. yeah the distortion is a little extreme. i'm still liking the concept of the first one better. try using other 3d shapes besides a cube. try to think of one that will show all of the letter with equal legibility. the cube is cool but it'd be nicer if it ws tilted so you could read the M better or so there isn't specific emphasis on any one letter, except maybe the M because it's the first letter in the name.
i'd say keep the 3d thing going, but just keep exploring it. some of my best stuff has come late at night after much experimentation and bud smoking. logos have to go through a lot of revisions because they have to be so concise and clearly communicate their idea yet still stay somewhat abstract and stylized.
