View Full Version : Price of BiHit and where to buy in Van
Hi,
I'm heading to Whistler for a month in July and aiming to buy a bike in Van when I get over there (coming from Australia).
I'm wondering if someone can give me a heads up how much I would be paying in Canada for a:
Specialised 04 BigHit Expert
upgraded forks to Super T or Slider +
MRP World Cup system 2 chainguide
Hayes Mags or Shimano XT 8" brakes
I've looked around on a few shop websites and noone seems to have prices in their sites in Canada?!?
If anyone can give me an idea of what I would be paying (and how much tax) or reputable shops that are reasonably located for a tourist in Vancouver it would be good.
thanks
Curtis

I don't know the prices of the '04s but an '03 Big Hit expert listed for somewhere around $2800-3200 with a Jr T on it and XT rear D. I own an '04 Big Hit Po which with a Super T, XTR read D and Hayes HFX brakes and retailed for $5200 +tax. IFO will have more detailed info for you.

all prices are approx. in canadian dollars
04 bighit expert retails for about 3700-3800
a good price would be 3200 and a great price would be anything less.
to upgrade to to a 888 is about 400 so figure less for the super t
the upgrage to mag levers would be 100 to 200 bucks as would the mrp.
add 7% tax and your good to go
dizzy cycles is a really good shop with some wicked prices and would like hook you up. the one problem i see is availablity.bikes are going and size could be an issue.i know dizzy had a few 03's left as do a few other shops. depending on the size of frame you want this could be an option.i think the 03 dh was 4000k and comes with mag levers and mrp bones cranks and the 03 pro was 3000 with the super t.
a quick email could answer alot of your questions
mailto:northvan@dizzycycles.com
or a $$ phone call could be in order.

Dizzy North Van for sure ... they have stock Bighit Experts for $3649 or i think $4,999 for the DH (with MRP, boxxer etc.)... you can swap the fork and upgrade the rear 6" HFX 9's to 8" mags or XT ... they are quite willing to work out a good deal for you. all and all, you will walk out happy and feel like you got a good deal. Too bad you'll be heading back to .au tho... you'll miss out on that first year of free service ;)
If you're staying in downtown vancouver, its a 10 minute seabus ride across from the water front and a 1 block walk.
Dizzy NV location...
speak to James...
he is the man...
welcome to the team... i'll send out your Tee, as soon as u post up pics of your new bike...

Caps New West Prices their 04 Bighit Experts at $3299 and will work you an awesome deal if youre actually gonna buy. :)
Talk to, I believe Sean, at Rocky Cycle in Surrey. They were selling 04 Experts for 3299 with Singletracks and Jr T's. Great guy and very easy to negotiate with.
Good luck

If you care to make a quick stop out here on the prairie, Alter-Ego in Winnipeg has an Expert for $3000.00 and they'd probably cut you a better deal than that.
