anybody know any good shops that could refer a rider to some decent trails in Courtenay, Nanaimo and Duncan?? (since I didn't get any responses to this http://bb.nsmb.com/newforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39885 )

heading over there for the weekend starting Fri... and I have no idea on the good riding areas. Any responses would be greatly thanked, Bryan

www.backcountrytaxi.com (I think that's the site) has some shuttling going up at Prevost just outside of Duncan. It has some pretty good riding there. Not much really in Victoria for good riding like the Shore or Woodlot. Talk to the guys up at Dodge City Cycles. They will hit you up with some good trails in Cumberland and maybe Forbidden Plateau will be open too:S?

experience cycling might be able to point you in the right direction in duncan.

Best Shops In Courtenay/Comox Area would be Dogde City Cycles in Cumberland and Simons Cycle in Comox.

In Nanaimo The Realm

In Duncan Experiance cycle

And in Victoria area Oak Bay bikes, Marty's and Russ Hays.

For hooking you up with trails Oak Bay, Dodge City and Experience are probably the best.

It was already mentioned above, but Dodge City in Cumberland would definitely be able to help you out with trails in the area. They also have maps. Simon's in Comox has the maps too and would help you out, they just aren't right beside the trails.

What day or days are you planning on riding in Courtenay? I might have to go to work sometime this week, but there is a good chance I will be off till next week, so I could show you around Cumberland and/or Forbidden Plateau. I am always up for riding, so let me know.

i'll be hitting an all-mountain ride on mt tzouhalem in duncan this weekend if anyone wants to come, not sure what day. i'll be climbing up to the top viewpoint (climbing, no walking) and then doing rocky-ridge, boogieman, and analyzer, then back up to t-bone, blueberry pancakes, upper/middle/lower-T, schools out, brodie-blast and toxic tea cup, then downhill blast out.

the possibility of some mt. prevost shuttling is there too. i have a truck that fits me and 3 peeps, 3 bikes with gear.

Dodge City Cycles is the place you want to be. Main drag in Scumberland, can't miss it.

yea prevost is sickly step...i'm not sure if mt. washington will be open for riding or not yet, but cumberland will have tons of good riding. you can also call 250-248-5575, to arrowsmith mountain cycle and talk to any of the guys at the shop and they can give ya directions to riding in parksville that rocks (like the new hammerfest dh/a-line of the island)
