I'm heading to Hood River this weekend with a load of Windsurf buddies... I was going to take my bike along as I'm not a windsurfer (though I might go do some sailing)...

Anyway does anyone know if there's some good mellow singletrack for some flowing good vibes?

Jon.

Ask the local bike shop about Post Canyon. It's 5 mins out of town. They've unofficially dubbed it "The South Shore". The log jam section has all sorts of stuff built on it. There is also a good flow section with drops and A-frames. You'll need to talk to the hard cores to find the 20 ft gappers though. You can make it a mellow ride if you want to though. Also you might want to see if the Sincline trail on the Washington side is still doable. It's a good 30-40 minute down-hill. You can fly strait down the grass fields if you can hang or try stayin on the trail for max difficulty. There is a "little moab" section near the bottom where you can find anything from 5-20 foot drops off of rock faces. Awsome views at the top of the river valley. Kinda frieky riding along a 300 ft cliff. It was shuttleable the last time I was there but people with big houses are moving in and putting up no trespassing signs so you might have to ride up. Enjoy!

Posty Canyon is sick for all stunted riding it has all sorts of beginner stuff to huge drops and gaps. Syncline is sick as well cause you can go as fast as you want. One thing though if its windy on the river I would opt for posty cause its protected and syncline can get a little hairy in the wind

Most of the trails were developed by motorbikes so you'll want to hook up with some locals to avoid the nasty climbs as you session the maze of trails.

OH I forgot but the Gorge Freeride Association the people who build most of the stunted trails in post canyon just released a map of the areas which includes all the trails in the area, even the newest ones.( which are sick by the way)
