The countdown is on.
Beyond the Valleycliffe of the Dolls freeride challenge is quickly approaching.
SATURDAY MAY 29th
The course is looking super pimp and the new sections are definitely worth the work being put into them. Not to mention the winner’s trophy is sweet. Winner judged by style over speed by the fully trained Dare Doll’s.
What else can I tell you… Epic ride with style points awarded. Fruit stand with all you can eat melons. Free Beer and personal Pizza after the ride at the Brew Pub plus some crazy ass prizes. What else could you possibly want in an event.

There you’ll find registration forms, pictures from last year and a map of this years course.
Oh yeah, and this year being hung over isn’t an excuse, it’s a category.
What do you say, shall we let the insanity begin?:rocker:

I'm sure I could podium for that with ease...I've trained pretty hard!

You have over trained. I think some grom will come along and show you what a real hangover is, throwing around the tequila with no regard to the circumstances, inventing new ways to throw it down the hatch (on one wheel), and puking in the new school style.

the first year everyone seemed hung over.
last year however Mike Melosh took top honour. as legend now has it he settled his bar tab 3 1/2 hours before the event and slept in, rather, on the parking lot. :D
good times... good times...

Ha – that’s a funny one.
From this event I expect only fun and you cant put that in #’s :)
There are lots of “I’ll be there”’s but you just never know.
That’s the price for throwing an event catering to nutoriously last minute freeriders.
All’s I know is that there’s plenty room for everyone and the sponsors are showing a lot of support going above and beyond for this event. Lot’s of premo goodies rolling in.:thepimp:

if its what im thinking of (dope slope?) then it should definetly be in as is. very nice line for sure, completed or not. especially considering the alternative...
brian
05-20-2004, 12:16 PM
nope. that's not it. there's only about 3 or 4 people that have seen it.

re: warm protein on a stick. alas the kebab stand was an idea better left on paper. what if we set the jerky on fire? :)
re: brian's 'secret?' line. SO?? should we plug er' in?
This weekend I'm grunting on LOL and Joint effort.
If it's just a matter of punching the trail to and from we could probably do it quick?
and barry - As much as I wanted to include dope slope it just didn't make the cut. what's wrong with the alternative? I love schooling people on that choppy rock :D

Hey bryan, I watched your channel 10 interview tonight. great stuff :) Disappointed that there was no me in the video clips though, I guess my hack point and shoot style wasn't good enough?
The course sounds killer, I wish I could ride it this year, I guess settling for fruit bitch will have to do though.

Ok How'd it go? Those rock faces must have been interesting
barry
05-30-2004, 09:58 AM
definetly one of the best rides of my life. the people were what made it though. EVERYONE was stepping it up to a new level, hitting stuff for the first time alot, and just getting so pumped up off each others energy. and people on their big bikes were really givin'r up the hikes. pedalling like mad. it was such a good vibe. 5 hours riding in total. including safety meetings and fruit booth visits :D
i think that the course being wet was a plus personally, it brought everyone together in a way that it wouldn't have if it were dry. it was a totally different riding experience, so locals and newcomers alike were diving into the unknown. watching people bomb down the last cougar ridge rockface was INSANE. absolutely incredible. unfortunatly no one hit the "goalposts". probably a good thing though :D
im sure some sick shots were taken as well as some video on joint effort? which has been stepped up extremely. probably the scariest teeter around, and quality too. even better than high and dry's v1.
once again. best ride this year if not ever. i cant comment on the afterparty, but im sure it rocked equally...
Shakes
05-30-2004, 12:29 PM
another best day... cool.
it was definately a great day.
aparantly blair did 'hit' the goalposts. just not with the big group.
more details to follow of course.
the hangover isn't even finished and plans for next year are already underway.
Zedbra
05-30-2004, 03:07 PM
Hey barry you stoner - me and Mike hit the goalposts. Though Mike vivited the tree on the left. I think Chris did too - all Squamish locals. I cleaned Cougar Ridge - I just wanted to finish! The leg cramps were killing me.
Whoulda thunk a pack a day smoker would finish first?
Think Fast Hippie
05-30-2004, 03:47 PM
It was an awesome ride.... great to see so many people out in the slime and muck:P Hmm what happened to Diggs????:nerd:
See ya all next year!!! And biggest thanks to Brian for getting all the logistical headaches out of the way!!! Oh, and congrats on the rugrat to come!:thepimp:
