Anyone know much about the riding scene in Smithers, and Terrace, for that matter? I've never been up there but am interested in going......

thanks

The Riding in Smithers is amazing, the trail with the plane is absolutely incredible, the views are intense, and it makes for a great weekend of riding! Terrace has some decent trails too, lotsa stunts being brought up around there!

Go to Mcbike in Smithers and talk to some of the folks there, they will set you up with a group of riders, or just tell ya how to get to the trails!

Wayne Goss started riding in Smithers. They got some killer shore riding up there. Equivalent or better than Nelson. If you need evidence of how good the riding is, watch Battles in the North.

Yeah Smithers and Terrace are rocking the scene right now. So many places to ride considering how small the population is compared to the lower mainland. I don't know much about Smithers, other than the trail Piper Down (the one with the crashed plane) is supposed to be super fun, and well built... I can tell you a bit about Terrace though.

We have Terrace Mtn., it's a 45 minute push to the top, then you have 4 or so trails going back to the bottom, all of them are pretty fast, mostly natural stuff, rocky and just super fun... there are a bunch of lower trails too, they are fun but short.

We have some dirt jumps that me and my buddies have constructed, there is a smaller set with 6 jumps that is way fun, a bigger set with 2 jumps, and a couple of single jumps, it's a really fun place to spend a lot of time if you are into dirt jumping.

There is also Copper/Thornhill Mountain, that's where most of the real riding is. You can shuttle up it, and the average trail is a 3-15 minute ride down. It's super technical, tight trees and pretty steep in some spots, but there are trails that most people can ride. You should probably be pretty decent on a bike before you ride most of the trails though. It isn't all natural stuff, there are a lot of smaller drops, bridges, and log rides though, nothing bigger than 10 feet or so though. It's hard to explain Copper, but it definately needs to be checked out.

If you are ever in Terrace go to All Seasons Source for Sports and just talk to the guys in the shop about hooking up with someone for a ride, you will be set up for sure with me or some of the other riders, or you could PM me before you came and we could hook up that way. Terrace is a rad place, underrated, and more riders are always welcome. :)

terrace is cool

biking ,fishing, skiing, paddling, are all really close, you drive into town and there are mountains all around

if terrace was in colorado the realestate would be about 4 times as high and there would be boutiques and coffee bars on every corner

instead houses are cheap,no crowds, nobody knows about it
