I had a sub to this magazine, for 6 editions I think... I've not had one for ages. What's happened to it? I was hoping that it would take off.

I have to read Dirt magazine for my fix of HC part reviews and such like... no that that's a problem.

Ha, I was just flipping through an old issue last night (their final one). I guess COSTS > revenue.

I was curious though. There was a picture in there of a guy named Craig Kelly from Nelson. It said he was the grandfather of 'freeriding' and he past away last year doing what he loved.

I never heard of him or what happened. Does anyone know?

You've never heard of Craig Kelly? Well, in the snowboarding world. He was basically a god. He died in a avalanche last year!! It pretty much rocked the snowboarding world. Some really sad news.

Ah, there you go. I'm not a snow boarder. Rest easy, Craig... hope there's snow and dirt in heaven.

Craig Kelly is one of my hero's.... Burton team rider from the days of neon outfits and sorel boots... no one could milk a pipe like he could back in the day.... he pioneered backcountry riding, and paved the way for the snowboard industry

I guess the only upside is that he passed away doing what he loved to do... moreover what he was all about

RIP to the "Godfather of Freeriding"

Launch stopped producing magazines, unfortunately they kept taking subscription money. I never received a single issue. There's a few unhappy photographers that haven't got their photo's returned as well. I think Chump is one of them.

Oh, and by godfather of freeriding, I think they mean freeriding of snowboarding.

So none of that really answered my question... I take it that Launch is no more then.
I thought that Darren Butler had just been taken on by them etc. etc.

Anyway seems weird that they died without much noise.
