I need to purchase the firm spring kit for my slider+... Are there any online places to purchase the kit and other internals? Also anyone have a price list of slider+ internals and parts? I know i can get them though manitou but usually company direct is more expensive.

Thanks

there is no part kit to just swap the spring...

all u need is the spring itself... and its super easy to change...

your LBS that sells Manitou should be able to get it for you...

p.s. Bikeroom is CDN site only...

you could also try any of the major online US bikesites...

yeah, i think ill have my lbs give me the prices and such...

also, my rebound adj. started leaking oil and i had to tighten the bolt. Oil leak problem fixed, however, the fork doesnt seem to be working as well as it use to. Im not sure how long the oil has been leaking but my bottomless feel isnt so bottemless. Not sure if they are related. Even with the medium spring i never was able to fully bottom out the fork but now i can def hit bottom. Could this be a result in the oil loss? Is it just a matter of adding oil or could it have affected my dampening system?

Oil leaking at rebound knob seems to be common with these (or worse) I finnaly got tierd of my boxxer race on my 03 bullit. Bought a slider +. .First ride, halfway down noticed small leak at rebound adj. I was riding well as I was stoked on the new fork. Went off 4 footer near end of pangor, KLUNK, end of ride. seems something broke in bottom of rebound leg. dont know if its related to leak.

jesus thats some bad luck...

my riding buddy recently broke his rebound assembly aswell.. Manitou took care of it...

seems odd its the rebound assembly that causes teh problem...i wonder if theres a tolerance problem on some of the forks ???

cuz i know a fair amount of peopel are beating the hell outa their Shermans and having no troubles..

other people seem to have problems right away... perhaps the forks are in such demand they arent being assembled properly at teh factory...

who knows ???

i've been on my Slider for almost a year now... its never leaked or given me a seconds worth of grieve...it continues to work aswell as the day i got it...

Ice, you def. would have a problem with bottoming if you had lost the oil outa the damping assembly... but to be honest if u had a leak that bad, the fork would "lockup" cuz the oil drains down into the lowers then has no place to go...

thats what causes teh fork to stop moving part way down its travel....

unless your fork is leaking ALOT of oil, i doubt u have a blown seal in teh damping assembly...chances are u are just losing the lube oil that resides in the lowers...

its a very small amount thou...

I believe the amount of oil is very minimal. Theres no locking up or anything like that. Still very smooth, but im hitting bottom just riding around in my driveway.

How long does it take for manitou to take a look at warranty issues? I might just send it to them if its under a couple weeks and have them put the new spring in as well.

depends on how quick your LBS is...

Manitou in general is super fast to look at, fix and return defective gear...

at least here in Canada anyways...

contact your LBS and have em taek it up with Manitou...

How do i check the damping oil level in the sherman plus?... or more so, how do i know if its at the correct level?

My fork bottoms out now and in the service manual, it says this may be one of the causes.

any other suggestions which might lead to fixing the problem would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance
