View Full Version : Ahhh it's good to be back on a BIKE!
Well, I was so stoked in getting a Norco Six, but unfortunately I can't wait forever. Especially all the good biking weather we have been getting. Sorry, Norco.
Say Hello to: The Devinci 8-Flat-8!

All I can say is OMG  The bike freakin' rules. I took it out for a light ride on Burnaby Mountain. The bike feels great, specially with the Swinger 4 Way. And that 888, WOW! Love it.
I have to give BIG props to the guys at Caps Cycle in New West. Gord and Nelson were a big help with the bike. I could not be any more happier with this bike. Cap's in New West is truly a great shop. With some pretty good deals!
More pics to come!

When that day comes,
be careful, I was originally going to put my Slider Plus on the Devinci (see sig), but the head tube was too long. It was pretty devistating.
I know the slider won't fit on a meduim, and probably a large.

Hey ruff,
Congratulations on the new ride . . . looks sweet! Any initial feeback on how it climbs in relation to weight? Looking at the 8-flat-8 as well and my only lingering concern is the weight (about 43 lbs with pedals) vs about 36 - 37 lbs for some of the alternatives I'm considering like the Gemini 2000 and Bullit. Unfortunately, I'm not able to trail test the bike but given that you were looking at the Norco Six, I figure you'd be a good person to ask.

Props to Caps New West and you sweet, new ride~! :thepimp:
I dumped my Norco Six option too due to a 'who know when they are coming' answer :)
Too bad about the Slider + not fitting. I'm sure Manitou will have that issue squared up for next year.
Cheers

There's one sitting in Cap's Richmond - such a nice bike! They've got an A-Line in as well.
Anyway, it's good to see another satisfied Devinci customer! How much did it cost to up to the 888 from the Jr. T?
Hopefully I'll have pics of my Hucker up soon to share.

Hey Mike, the 8-Flat-8 is awsome. It pedals really well with the Swinger, there is very little pedal-bob. The bike is heavy, but I'm used to it. The only thing I would change is the front rings, stock rings are 28-38, I found that the 28 is to hard to pedal up Mt. Fromme. It could be me, I'm pretty out of shape right now.
I rode Upper Oil Can then the lower part of 7th and the bike preformed beutiful! :) It was solid around corners, drops an rooty/rock sections. I'm 100% sold on this bike right now. I'm sure glad I made the switch to Devinci. You can go wrong!
I just can't wait till Whister :thepimp:

Ya it's a pitty, the Six is pretty sweet, but I can't wait for ever. I was devistated about the Slider, but the 888 is really nice. I was a little worried about the 888, being to much fork for me. But it's fine, I'm glad I made the upgrade.
Hey Nelson, YES we should go for a ride, Team Devinci! I'll get in touch with you.

I had a Hucker before, I loved that hardtail. As for the 888 upgrade, lets just say it was well worth the price ;)

So you've got a medium frame then? The smalls have a 4.5" headtube and the medium and large have 5.1" and 5.6" headtubes. How tall is too tall?
Oh and how much did you pay? Over 3k?

Hmmm, it's hard to say, the problem is the width of the 1.5 headtube. The sliders drop cowns are very narrow with a steep pitch and with the added width of the 1.5, you can't set the top crown flush with the heatube, right there you lose around a inch. You might want to give Airborne Ranger a shout he's more knowlegable since he works at a bike shop.
