Has anybody used them?

I have a RF XY post (mint 27.2, will sell;)) that is sitting useless right now, and I want to use it.

Do I run a higher risk of ovalizing the seattube or anything? It's a Norco Torrent frame, so the tubing is pretty burly, but I still wonder...

Just in case anyone was wondering, bikeroom has them on their site.

thanks:cool:

If you can get away with using only one shim, there should be no problems at all. I use one on my Giant DH, and don't notice any differance. I would avoid using multiple shims though.

If you can sell it, you will be better off buying a post that is made to fit.

I had a bike that used a shim and it was a pain in the ass to keep in place when I raised and lowered the seat.

This is just my experience and my opinion, but you will be better off selling it and getting a post that actually fits.

unfortunately there is little market for used seatposts because there are a million different sizes...

If I could sell it, and buy something decent to replace it with, I would.
