I know this topic has been beaten to death on more than one occasion, but i just wanted to get a few more opinions.
I know most of you wear them while going big or riding trails, but how many of you wear them all the time doing anything? Big or small.
It just seems like it would be worth it to wear them for everything big or small.
Opinions?

The worst injuries I have seen have been on some of the smallest stuff we ride.
I have friends who do stuff that I consider to be pretty damn big, and they rarely make mistakes on it. The same guys of course crash, but more often than not on something stupid and small.
Last Saturday we were of WoodLot Gold..and my friend Mike tanked off the first teeter. Head first, no hands out, happened faster than you can snap your fingers (and the guy is as agile as a fricken cat).
Caved in the left side of his Mad Max...Badly. With a regular lid on, I guarantee you he would have broken his face, cheek and eye orbit for sure...and the hit was on the temple as well. He would have been KO'd and likely suffer serious problems as a result.
Instead, he only had a very mild concussion and a sore few days.
A ff isn't going to slow you down. Any time I ride somewhere where I am gonna be going fast or the wheels will leave the ground, I wear mine.

oh yea, story
my friend hit our road gap(about 10 foot gap) and he landed tail heavy on his hardtail, he got a little crooked fliped over and his head slmaed into a tree, he had is full face on so his face didnt slam sgains the tree. but he was sure glad he wore his ff.
another friend it this 7 footer and he landed real hard bottoming and he slammed the mouth gard of his ff in to his stem, if the didnt have it on he would have had some missing teeth,
so im always wearing mine now if im gunna hit anything
I wear it for everything, including street and DJ...
makes me feel invicible

Really depends on what im doing. If im riding street ill wear my skid lid, but i never reach speeds past about 5km/h
For dj or big jumps, ill wear my fullface most of the time, altough if its super hot outside, Ill risk it.

I wear it riding trailsand usually urbaning or doing big new stuff.
May sound stupid, but when I'm just chilling at the local bike park, I prefer my half lid, totally. Doing a no footer, I'd rather be able to see where my feet are landing so I can land the trick and keep my whole body intact as opposed to just my face.
This is of course, cuz I'm so comfortable on the jumps. When I'm gonna learn a new trick or something I'll wear a full face. Or if I'm doing some new jumps, I'll wear a fullface.
My fullface has seen it's uses and saved my ass a few times though, for sure.

I wear it any time, any where. I have heard to many stories about people trying to hop up curbs and falling on there heads, and weird stuff like that. I like my Bell, it light and comfrtable, I dont have a second thought about putting it on, where ever I ride.
FF for everything except pure ol school XC riding...
i feel naked, riding in my XC lid actually...its so open...
im so totally used to my FF now, i dont even think about it...

I ride fullface on the shore, whistler, trails I don't know and dj's I've never been to.
I'll wear the skid lid for urban, and dj's I know. Some days though I'll wear the ff just because I have a feeling... better safe than sorry, and with the options out there these days you'll find a comfortable one for sure, so no excuses except maybe fashion, but are we mountain bikers or spoiled magazine stars?

I wore it for almost everything during the summer. Than during the winter I started wearing my XC lid because I didn't really ride to much mountain. I'm now back to wearing my FF constantly, simply because I do feel safer with it on. And it looks damn cool.

full face for everything... though i don't really do a lot of urban... and in all actualality it doesn't matter what i'm doing- i just don't go that big....
BUT... i went over my handlebars doing some stupid ass jump the other day, and i'm friggin glad i was wearing my full face... i was going fast enough to cause some nasty ass damage to my legs (handlebars) above my armor... and i thought i didn't need to wear my arm armor that day... wish i did. so now i just figure, what the hell? i'll just go all out w/ armor whenever.
i say safety and comfort first.

I don't where mine much. When i am riding around here i am mostly doing tech stuff, stairgaps, and other things. Since there is so little stuff here i am very confident on most of the stuff i ride. When I was up in whislter and on the shore last summer i used my full face every day, even dirt jumping. But i was pushing my limits very hard on unfamilar terrain.
The only times i have used my full face here in wisconsin is at dh races. but i travel to the mountains a lot and my ff has saved my ass many times and i have never had a time where i wished i had worn it.

Ya know, last time I was in Victoria on vacation I saw this guy riding down the sidewalk along the highway going into town wearing a ff on his Kona and I thought how cool it would be if the USA had a law requiring helmets like you guys have. When I go riding, I always feel like a dork wearing my ff on the way to my destination but yet I carry it with me because as soon as I get there, I wouldn't ride without it. In the back of my mind I always think how stupid it will look if I wreck or get hit by a car and my ff helmet is strapped to my Camelback. Why don't I wear it regardless? Because it is so freaking hot and I feel goofy riding down the bike path in full moto gear to my ride spot.:???:
