Alison was on CBC radio this morning giving her thoughts and discussing the issues with the shore. I thought she did a superb job of addressing the issues and stating that we are willing to work with the municipality on a resolution.
Good job Alison!

Good deal. It's good to see that the people in this sport that the public DOES recognize are stepping in and saying their word. At this point, it can only help. It's not her obligation to do this, but obviously it is important to her, so she stepped up to speak her mind. Kudos, Alison!!
If she did anything to persuade some people to at least a neutral position, then we should be buying her alot of beers.
I know if I had a 'voice of credibility' to lend to the dispute (it's not an argument - we're right ;)), then I'd be talking it up w/ any & every media source that would listen to me.
I am just a mere mortal like most of us here, so I opted to e-mail the folks in the Ivory Towers.
Thanks for the update, Dolph!
That's great!
Can anyone think of a better high profile "spokesperson" than Sydor? I bet she could make honest claim that without Fromme, she wouldn't have turned pro, and wouldn't have brought home an Olympic Medal for Canada.
I have a good feeling about this debate...
BTW: if anyone deserves free beer, it's Sharon.
Sharon puts in a rediculous amount of time on the NSMBA but rarley sees and thanks.
Ill buy her a beer anytime.

I'd buy Lee a beer for supporting her addiction/habit - if he actually drank, that is. D.

Thanks guys! I'm always open for beers!
I wonder if Alison would like to be our official or not so official spokes person...

She did do a good job. The one part of the message that needs to be improved is what is being done to ensure good trail etiquette. It's not enough to say that there are a few bad apples like in any other sport - we need to show the yahoos are being educated.

yep.. that was pretty much the only thing.. however I agree with her... there are always bad apples in any sport... people just have to stop stereotyping !

That's a fantastic idea. She is a fantastic role model and is well-respected by everyone, riders and the general public alike.
Please pursue this if you can.:)

What time was this on? I had my radio on at 9...they were talking about the gay marriage issue in the states though. I would have loved to hear about the shore, and here what Allison had to say.
Anyone know if they're going to replay it any time soon?

I hear Brian Lopes and Tracy Moseley have a little down-time as well:(
Maybe they'd have an interest in some form of interview/awareness assistance as well?
My brain farts every so often and the fingers just follow...
Something more probable would be some form of posted rules of etiquette/conduct @ trailheads Instead of charging admission, riders would have to read and understand the rules before they embarked on their rides.
Most people know better when they're out there, but some people have the capability to expand any situation out of controllable proportions w/o rules to abide to.
At the very least, it would be a sign to local communities that there is a majority percentage of us that do care about their neighborhoods and streets and that we truly appreciate being able to park there to enjoy what we love most...riding.
That is if that kind of signage doesn't already exist. If it does than WTF are some of you people out there thinking? Turn your bikes in and buy mega-hella-SUV's...it's more to the point that you're trying to acheive, isn't it?

Hey you guys,
Why don't you guys form an association and sell Shore Passes, a reasonably priced pass were all monies go into the preservation of the said areas, a kind of a tax if you will. Designate a patrol, riders that volunteer 1 day a season to patrol the area, making sure certain rules are adhered to.
Just an idea....might help.
