Hey I was just about to buy these but I wanted a second opinion. The ones im talking about are the new ones with the plastic on the outside, they look a little like the dianese. cool.. thanks

they are great... even the full-wrap DH stuff has good ventilation. It was weird when I first had them on because I actually felt the air on my legs coming through the vents. Awesome protection too, way burlier than Dianese.
I've owned Dianese, too, and the roach never move around, whereas the Dianese will shift around like no tomorrow.

I own a pair and I'm pretty happy with them. Kinda bulky but you get used to it.
Geat pads, I have the FR's and they are the most comfortable pads I've used, plus they have all the protection I'll ever need.

I've had them since July and love them. They are working out great!
I have the DH ones. Once you break them in they are the most comfy pad you will ever wear, and unlike the others, they actually stay in place.

Corey have you found yourself actually needing the full wrap extra protection?

To be honest...No.
The full wrap is pretty thin anyway...I don't think the "mesh" offers any real protection. Any hard enough pedal contact to cut your skin will do the same right through the mesh.
The only real benefit in my opinion, is a bit of extra side coverage.
If I was buying them again, I'd just get the FR version.

i got the dh ones. and i find the full mesh backing helps keep some of the mud and crap out.
super comfy and burly. ive taken bails and gotten up and thought thank god im wearing these because my dainese were way too noodely.
only downside is that they are somwhat bulky, but once they are broken in you dont really notice it at all.

oh and also, the straps at the top, are sticky to the velcro hooks so you can overlap the straps if your legs arent big enough
i have the fr ones and i am very happy, i used to have the old roach and they slid around and i got a rash from them, so i went out and bought the new ones, and i am happy that i did, they have excellent knee protection, much better than the old ones, and they dont slide around that much at all

Yeah I have to do that for mine to work, but it works perfect.

I kinda figured that...
I've got the FR's & think they're the dogs.
Like everyone's said :-
They stay in place (way better than Dainese).
Better shin coverage.
A bit bulky - only take a few rides & they're worn in.
Well made & will last (I hope).
Get some, they're worth the money!:coo:
