hey, I'm kinda confused about something so I thought I could get some help from you bike experts.
I have a bmx at home that I got a long time ago and it's still in mint condition. I've been looking at the new banshee scratch and was wondering if I could just get it frame only and then swap the bmx frame for the scratch. The only concern I have is with the rigid fork that I have now and whether it will fit with the banshee's head tube. It's just a standard bmx rigid I believe. Oh yeah, the second major thing is with the bottom bracket and whether I would have to get a new drive train system set up????
I'm thinking about doing this because I might start with the banshee scratch as a bmx and then further upgrade it to more of a dirtjumper with a dj 1 and a 24" wheelset in the future.
Do you think this would work cause I dont even know if its possible?

the scratch is not a bmx
the frame is bigger.. 20" wheels would be stupid

"The BMX BB and chainstay grind guards suggest BMX, but the 3D dropouts allow you to run a 20, 24 or 26 inch wheel on the back. Shit son, that's crazy!"

I'm not asking if it will look stupid... I'm just asking if it would work... my future plans (it it's possible) are to build it up into a dirtjumper once I have enough money for a fork... but I'm kind of doubtful about the headtube though...

It should work if yor bmx has a 1 1/8" head tube. I wouldn't advise it though. While any bike can run 20" wheels, it may cause your cranks to hit the ground, also if you use your bmx fork, your head tube will be "oh no I'm going to die!" steep. Your brakes probably won't work (unless you have V's on there). So basically ride your bmx for a while then get a complete Scratch or sell your bmx and get a Scratch.
On a side note, has anyone ridden one of these on the trail? How steep does the head angle feel with a 5" fork? (It looks mighty steep in the picks with a rigid fork that is supposed to be the same height)
I beleive the fact that it can run 20's is a misprint.
On anouther note its an amazing frame up close. the web pics do it no justice.

what about the steepness of the head angle?

I wanted to revive this thread, but disregard the stuff about the bmx/banshee scratch thing... I noticed on the banshee site that they make the scratch in a red frame as well as black and I was wondering if anyone had seen a red one or has pictures of it cause I couldn't find any on the net...thx
