Hey there all,

I am looking at the new Devinci's this spring.

The Wilson etc. are awesome but likely have too much travel for my needs.--(I like to pedal and ride tight trails) Drops done on purpose are rarely over 6 feet.

Short chain stays, slack head angle, steep seat post and horst link rear end!!!!!!

The Banzai and Magma have great geometry for me and theyare only 5.5" in the back.

Does anyone know if this new frame can take a dual crown fork?
Does anyone know what the prices are?

I am also curious what shock size they use.

Any info. from you bike gurus would be helpful.

i was going to get the magma, but ended up getting a norco 4by. i really didn't like how tall and short the devinci felt; i didn't really feel confident on it. if you're doing lots of uphill the devinci might be a better choice b/c it weighs less, but i would seriously look at the 4by too, it's got a reasonably slack head angle (i have a 5" fork on mine), short chainstays, horst link, and if you don't like it then all you've lost is a little bit of time, i'm glad i tried out the 4by before i ordered a magma.

prices: i remember a stock magma from 03 was ~$2700

Please don't purchase an old devinchi for your sake. They don't feel too bad but I have seen too many broken, I also don't think it would be a good idea to but a fork bigger than 7 inches on it or 7 might be a bit big. The new ones are very nice and can take al lot. The new frames go for about $1800 (i think but not sure) for the two higher end ones (Ollie and Wilson) and a like $1600-$1700 for the 8-flat-8 frame. If you want to find out the shock sizes go check the site, they should have it. If you do buy the frame, just keep the schock on them because the Manitou rear shocks are nice.
