How much is it for one?

Does it come with something to make you camera trigger it or do you need to buy a certain camera?

You do not need to buy a certain camera, so I dunno where that guy is coming from.

Anyways, there are different kinds, radio slaves, just regular cable doohickeys, and such. You are looking into spending alot of bling for a radio slave setup.

Radio slaves are the most flexible. Check out "pocketwizard plus" on the web. All you need is a camera with a flash sync port or a flash hotshoe on top. All the SLR's have these and some of the point and shoot cameras.

Thats what i plan on doing

I am not going to get one soon, I was jsut wondering about them because they are sweet. I plan to get a digital SLR then hopefully get a remote flash for it. Next yera maybe. I might get a new video camera instead though.

there are also cheap optical slaves ($40 or so) that are triggered by the flash on your camera.

Radio is the way to go though if you have the $

but they don't work very well... which is why everyone eventually buys radio slaves.

save yourself some money and buy the radio slaves first.

I understand your point and do agree that eventually radio is the way to go, but wasting money isn't really an issue with optical slaves. I mean an optical hotshoe adapter is real cheap and it's a good way to get a little practice in before dropping the coin for a raido setup
