there a zoki MANITOU FOR LIFE, just kidden, in all reality, I have both. My dj2 snapped and i was prety pist, but then again, this will be my 3rd time with my sherman slider being sent in for repairs. I have to give it up for zoki on alot of there new products though. I have seen a deffinent increase in quality through out the years in there product. I am not really one of those Zokis such, hale manitou, I just ride what ever gets the job done. I have seen low quality products from both. The dj series in my opinion is one of them. Good quality but poor enginearing. Both are great companys, I just think that some of zokis shocks are out-dated, but with the feel of the new ones that i was playing with at my lbs, they have really turned around imo.

im not really complaining, i figured it would probaly happen sometime soon, but still, everyone i know who has a dirtjumper 1 ,2, or 3 has had it crack on the crown, all in the same place.

buy a DC fork and stop complaining.
most SC forks belong on XC bikes IMO...they don't exactly belong on the shore.get a DC fork, and never worry about having stantion tubes jab you in the eyeballs ever again.

Weird.

the pre-2003 SC Marz freeride forks were really good at breaking. i've haven't heard of an '03 or later model break yet. when i had my 2003 DJ3 it was creaking for months and months, and as I hacked the shit out of it (22 sets and bigger to flat), it got no worse. i warrantied it before selling just in case. but from my experiece a pre 2003 marz dj would have never held up to that kinda bullshit. the huge crown and 32 mm stanchions are key. and i agree with The_Real_Yetti. The Shiver SC=:thepimp:
Inverted forks, although generally reserved for racing, are stronger, IMO, because the thicker tubing is at the top, where its needed because more leverage is delivered from the wheel to the crown area than from the wheel to the axle area. Yeah, some are flexy cos there's no arch, but they're strong. no busted stanchions or crowns on inverted forks.
plus they're ultra responsive b/c it's lowers are the stanchions. nice and light.

get an inverted fork. but if you have a pre 2003 marz fork, you can get them replaced with a strong new 2003/2004 freeride for by marz at upgrade pricing. check it out on their website:

http://marzocchi.com/template/detailSPATecharea.asp?IDFolder=164&LN=UK&Sito=mtb&IDOggetto=2801

"ATTENTION FREE RIDERS, EXTREME FREE RIDERS, DIRT JUMPERS AND URBAN RIDERS

If you have misused or abused your forks, or if you have landed improperly in the past, Marzocchi will upgrade:
- Z3, Z3.5 or Z5 forks (30mm MY 2001-2002) to new model year 2003 DJI or DJIII forks
- Z1 30mm (MY 2001-2002) to new model year 2003 Z1 FR 32mm
at a discounted price, regardless of whether your forks show any signs of fatigue, damage, impacts, cracking, creaking, leaking, etc."

I'm 1,96mtr and 100 kilos and I've been riding a 110mm QR20 DJ II for a long time now. Never had any problems with it. The first time I heard about the mud-flap mounts crown problems I was a tad concerned, but meh..from my personal experience it's a pretty decent fork for the money. Untill I see elvis myself, it'll do just fine.

lol i dont freeride on the fork at all, never done a drop over 4 feet without a tranny, never cased a jump or nose cased, never ever tried any type of stall that would put lots of stress on the fork.(ahem bryan.....)
im chalking this one up to a defect int he crown.

ummm all your guys just bashing or what? how gay

mine broke and i had like 20 rides on it. MARZ MADE A BOO BOO they left a small lip/ridge in the part of the crown that holds the moves lateral or at least a key area to lateral movement. this lipped ridge is where the crack starts extending itself into the crown and then shears off between stanctions. they made the crowns "BAD" and if u compare a 03 crown to a 04 crown u can see the difference. They didnt leave this 1mm-2mm ridge there that is very easy to crack!

Neo

those bars are the uncut roox torque bar. i like wide bars, trials style.

yes the rear tire is on backwards because that tread pattern works better on the trail in that direction.

What he meant to say was "Don't go big".
Pushing the limits while "riding smooth" will still take a toll on parts.
