I bought a BRAND NEW Grimeca 203mm rotor, and when I spaced out my caliper and set-up my brakes, I noticed it only rubs on one portion of the rotor, like it's warped.

I spin the wheel and can't SEE any wobble, but you can hear it rub the pads "shing shing shing". I only have 1 UBER PAPER THIN shim on the bolts, if I put one more shim, the entire pad contacts the rotor, and if I put no shims, the OTHER pad contacts the rotor....

The brakes are new, Magura Louise. I rode around with with no shims to break in the pads and they rubbed, but with ANY shims it would rub pretty badly.....so I finally shimmed it and now it doesn't rub AT ALL except at one spot "shing shing shing" when I spin the wheel.....

Is it the pads breaking in and setting, or is my rotor warped REALLY slightly? I mean, one super thin shim, I don't think I could see a warp that minute, LOL.

Try riding it like that for awhile... it might stop once the pad wears down a bit.
I always found it way too tedious to get my pads to stop rubbing when it was a tiny rub like yours... so I just rode it. It went away eventually :|

Yeah...it sucks.... My clearances are so minute that if I lean the bike far while riding to one side, it rubs...LOL....nothing that slows you...you just hear it....

Damn, when I had Hopes, everybody complained about shitty brake noises. I never had that problem, but these Maguras are funny...and DEFINITLY nice as nice feeling, LOL.

just ride it, not a big deal. as long as its not bad rotor drag

you could file your caliper mount a little bit, to remove a minute amount of paint/material if you really wanted.

:fix: yeah, I was thinkin of that, so I could utilize more spacers...but eh...it's fine where it is.....

give the pads a bit to wear in, if the sound continues after a few rides, then consider sanding the brake mounts....
