I'm stil entertaining the idea of a new frame. I wouldnt mind keeping my avalanche as I basically love the thing. The avy is the aforementioned size; I've listed some frames below that could take the avy.
v10
big hit (which its on)
bb7
any others? I've purposely left the stab primo out on purpose - been there done that sorta thing.
If anyone wants to add a reputable frame to the list, please do.
Thanks

Your measurements are confusing... Is it a 2.75" stoke or 2.8"??./

Both will work in actuality. The primo was 2.75 yet the Avy is 2.8 (or vice versa) and it bolted right in.

.25 would make a difference...if the ratio is 3.5:1,that's a full inch lost right there.
but you're math is off,and there is only a .05 inch difference in stroke.back to elementary school you go!;)

ahh thats priceless
on an interesting math related note
before I bought the avalanche for the stab primo, I thought about buying the 9 x 3 avy which would've given me roughly 10.7 inches of primo avalanched travel. As far as I could tell, the rocker arms would've slanted enough from the stock position to accomodate the extra .25 inches.
Here's a list of shock setups for loads of bikes :-
