I have been told that if you change a DJ2's travel up to 130mm, instead of 110, they will void the warranty on the frame. Does anyone know if this is true???
Even if it is, I would like to change the travel on it, but does anyone know if it'll really hurt a P.3 frame?

Any input would be great.

Thanks.

i've heard 125mm is the cutoff, but i can't remember where i heard that. but specialized sent tremblay a P.3 with a 5" DJ1 so who knows. the extra 20mm would be nice for trails but for street you don't need it.

call the big S.

I know tremblay had a 5", but I'm just worried about the frame breaking, or I would break it just because of the extra travel.

And I used the interactive FAQ thing on their site, they still havent replied.

5" would not break the frame. the headtube area is like the beafiest part.

well check the warranty with the store when you buy it. that way you'll know for sure.

you definitely won't break it with a 5" fork

i am taking my dj1 down to 90mm, with a 5" dj its just to tall for me..dont worry about breaking your p3, i have a 2003 p2 and i weigh 230#, aint broker yet, i ride hard and crash hard...btw i have blown up 3 dj'ers on this bike ....3 different forks, now i am rigid, and i have a cromo fork off of a trek bruiser unti i get my dj1 cut down,,any way i have said too much....end transmission now.

I was gonna get last years P3 from my LBS and put a Jrt2 on it, and they said nothing about it so i doubt a 5'' dj would void the warrenty or possibly break the frame, but im not completely sure as i bought a bighit instead(becuase they were sold out of 2003s)
