So my Shore is supposed to be in the next week here and I need to get the proper weight spring this week so I can hit up the weekend!

If anyone can answer any of these questions...itll totally help me out.

First...those riding Team northshores, what weight spring are you riding? how much do you weigh and what is your style?

second, whats the difference in required weights between propedal and standard fox shox?

If I'm 200lbs, I ride really pretty hard...quite a bit of air, but good form...what weight spring should I be running normally...

what weight with the propedal?

Mulletron?

im about 180 +/- 5lbs i ride seymour, prettymuch everything, and i ride lots on fromme, but i dont go much bigger than 6 feet. im running a mountainspeed spring 600lbs. it feels nice, but as for running with the fox pro pedal, id think possibly run a lighter spring. id say try a 600 and if thats not light enough try a 650 or so. hope that helps

N00ner, you are oversprung....If you are 180, and according to your riding, you would really benefit from a lighter spring. The bike will come alive once you switch up. Trust me.

I ride the 2003 NS.

I weigh just over 180 and run a 500lb spring. I found the 550 to be too much, and the 450 was just shy of what I needed, so it made 500 the best for me.

I ride shore stuff, I'd say I have more of a DH style to my riding...I'm not into really big drops...I'd say the biggest stuff I'll do is maybe 8 feet? Dunno, I don't get as stoked on drops as I do good flow and such.

If I were running a Pro-Pedal, I think I'd start at the 500 (where as in this case I started at 550) and go down from there if need be.

If you are at 200lbs...Maybe go with a 600 to start?

rode my 2002 shore with a 700 lbs spring(regular fox RC),
and now i ride a 4by4 withe the propedal.
i run a 650 lb spring on the 4by4 (2.85:1 leverage ratio).

I don't actually know if the propedal needs a drastically lighter spring...i think if i went any lighter,i'd definately be bottoming out quite often.

keep in mind that the stock fox springs are not tested as well as eibach speed springs...that is to say the foxes can sometimes be in excess of 100 lb's off of what the spring advertises, eg a 500 could really be anywhere from a 400 to a 600.

190 last season, I ran a 550 on my shore, non-propedal. It was a little to soft I guess, good for DH stuff. I would bottom it on anything over 8-10 feet.. I would have gotten a 600-650 if i decided to keep the bike. I know I know, its 'supposed to' bottom out off bigger drops, but I prefer it not to.

15-20 footers aren't uncommon for me...650?

I kinda like the feel of stiffer bikes, too.

600 to 650 should be fine with the propedal would be my guess.

I'd try the 650 to start off.... then huck a 20.

yea a 650 would be pretty good or maybe even a 700, im about 180 and i ran an 800 it was super stiff but man did it soak up big hits.

you ride an older shore, though.

my old shore I ran a 650 and it was pretty good. This was a 2002...but I weighed 10-15lbs less then. and i didnt push myself as much

I'd say 650 - 700lbs w/ 30% sag.

It "feels" to me that the 2004 Fox shocks are "firmer" - i.e. they can run a tad softer spring. Maybe they're valved better for big hits? Anyways, propedal definitely lives up to what it's supposed to do.

I'm 230lbs, and from what I've sat on I'd go with a 600 lb spring.

I'd bet Corey is right.

I've got a 2004 Shore, size med. I'm 180 lbs and riding the stock spring which is a 2.8 x 550. Seems pretty good, I've only got about 6 rides in on it. My ride style is all-around stuff- not super aggressive, but drops into the 6' range are my pace (for now) and I ride uphill to get down. The propedal is quite excellent and sure noticeable for any uphill duties, in the sense that it definitely "dampens" out pedal feedback, although it does mute the feeling of the shock working over the smaller stuff (washboard, brake bumps etc) I could see myself going to a 500lb spring as Whsitler approaches, just to soften things up a little more, but so far I've got no major complaints- You'll be stoked on the bike too!:thepimp:
