Hands down, 2004 is the most stellar year EVER for new bikes and equipment. The technology packed into our little fringe sport and the selection available is truly amazing.

Plus on the North Shore, in 100 square miles of Planet Earth we have a half dozen of the most awesome bike shops, staff and mechanics in the Universe tempting us with every line of bike known to man and all offering sweet deals and service to shoppers.... not to mention the trails and terrain.

I think Vancouverites and BC inhabitants in general take it for granted.

Travel anywhere else in the world and you'll realize that the MTB culture we've got going for us in Vancouver (all BC) is unique. There is nowhere else like it. Travel to other cities in other countries... you don't see bike shops like we've got, bikes don't rule the mountains and streets like they do here, most people don't even know what the hell it is.

Enjoy it, and don't take it for granted.

Technology no, but persepective wise BC is the best place to live in the world if you enjoy mtb'ing.

yeah, good post.

i live in NVan, so i look at that if I move ANYWHERE else on earth it is going to suck compared to what we have going on here... not just the mountain biking, all of the recreation of the north shore mountains.

Yes...for 2004, what's available now to the common DH/FR BC consumer at an ever increasingly better price tag is pretty sweet:cool:

Take BC for granted? Never.
I know damn well where I live and I'm grateful:)

Not to mention prices have dropped substantially over the last 3 years. My buddy bought a vps3 in 2000 stock for 3200.00 they came with Z3 and a fox vanilla (no rebound adjustment) same bike today is half the price.

Taking vancouver for granted is true. Even moving to vic you realise how rad vancouver is. I miss it, but atleast I am forced to get much mroe creative and tech here based on the huge limitations of cool shit.

I am originally from Alberta so there is no chance of me taking BC for granted, especially not Kamloops. The scene here is unreal, anything you can dream up, you can make it happen here.
Oh and pricing is unreal this year. Everything has come down sooo much.
