That whole area around Sea. Center is ripe, but the %@&%$ security is soooooooooo tight.
When I win lotto, y'all can come to my freeride park, grill and opium den:thepimp:
If you work fast enough, you can log a little quality time in I would suppose:???:

there is a smallish, but fun park in woodinville that allows bikes. its on 522 not to far from 405 (heading east of course).
ive seen cops kick bikers outta the park you are talking about...ive even seen one guy lose his bike when arguing with a cop...
so tread with caution!

Have you seen the new bldg. @ Sea.Center JUST south of the fountain? Some interesting lines along the stairwells on both sides...

Burlington and Anacortes, 1 to 1.5 hrs north of seattle, both have pretty cool bike friendly skate parks. Not huge, but lots of fun lines.

gas works is safe
its more of a trials place then an urban assault place. but if you are about techie riding...there you go!
i havent been to seattle center in a long long time (since last years bumbershoot :)
i used to ride UW nightly. then the landlord sold the house i was living in (.4 miles from campus) and i had to move further away :(

If you need the skinny on some bike friendly places I will PM you some places that I ride a lot. Sea Skate is more mountain bike friendly. I've had a big group (probly 10) bicycle police at the gates watching us ride our mountain bikes in sea skate. They dont seem to take too kindly to me now that I ride BMX. There are a lot of good places to ride.....The places that are listed here don't really have anything big.
I used to live in burlington and there isnt anything bigger than 5 feet, same with anacortes.
If you get kicked out of sea skate it will be by the skaters or the parking lot security.
Anyway, if you are planning on a ride down here, lemme know. I can show you around and get you to the good spots. I like to keep some of them secret, but I know of a good good pool, and a good bank to rail......
Shoot me a PM if you wanna ride

Man, I haven't been out to the UW in well over a year now. I may have to do something about that.

Nick, St. Edwards Park is up in Kirkland area. From what I've heard, there's nothing major there aside from the drop. Most of us are too lazy to go look:P
I'd be doing mass riding out there (90 corridor) if I were you - that lil' nook out there is top-shelf.

Sounds like we need to get some Seatown rides going this spring. I will come down from B-Ham and hit up some street. All around the U district there are tons of places to hit.

maybe ill have to get a bmx this year and actually learn how to ride and not just drop to flat when at UW
im all for some urban sessioning..
vancouver friday night rides...UW STYLE
hahaha...so many places haven't been mentioned.
Woodinville and Redmond both have modest but fun parks, around seattle theres tons of street spots that aren't just drops to flat. I can think of 3 large wallrides, quite a few prime grind rails, stall rails, big ledges that have banks into em...as well as some stair gaps. I never ride down there anymore but Chafer and probably myself would be glad to show you around. We have some pretty badass dirtjumps hidden around here...theres more skateparks then those, too...but not ones I ride.
Downtown seattle also has some real fun bunnygaps you may be into, as well as lots of tech street. Not too much in the way of banks though...albeit there are a couple prime spots.
most of what we have to offer is in the dirt.

kinda. if ur in the qfc parking lot and u cross the street at the light, take a right and go down the street a lil ways and on ur left u'll see this lil trail path and u wanna follow that down and if u come to a Y in the path stay left. U go all the way down into the valley and once ur down there u come up to this steep hill and if u go up the path u should exit out onto some baseball fields and then ur going to wanna go left along the treeline looking for the ladder. those are the best directions i can give. if u know where the teeter toter and stuff is, its in that area.

By the way, Alki Bike & Board have been doing a little trail-work along the W. Marginal hillside south of W.Sea. Freeway. Haven't been up there yet, but still alot to be done. All the same, he's got a petition that y'all should sign to help preserve a strecth of greenbelt out there that developers are trying to take over. It would essentially break up a very long strip of greenbelt if it's to go thru.

Thanks!

they've been saying that for a couple years now and i went up there last year and it was basically a path for walkers and joggers

It's still infantile for sure.
They managed to put a couple little things from what I've heard. All the same, any of that greenbelt we save NOW could possibly go a long way down the road, eh?

...use the force.
Well, at least make sure you clean the bike before attempting...;)
p.s. - Just below the blades/board posting is one regarding tagging/STICKERING, but what's on the top-right corner of that sign? I smell a loophole

Yeah, seattle has some pretty tech little spots. There are a ton of good parks, and good places to ride if you know where to go. I would be happy to show people around for sure. There really is a lot of riding down here.

That drop at St Ed's is at the end of the trail that starts with the crappy ladders built by where Somebody said. Just follow the trail from the end of the ladder bridges past the swampy area, past the teatter totters and when you get to the T that dictates left back up to the road(nice little drop being constructed there) or right towards the baseball fields. The ladder is maybe 2-3 feet off the ground but the landing is so steep you could possibly clear 20. I did it once when it was getting dark. Probably cleared 10-15 feet. Some old dude came running up to me I before I went yelling at me to wait. I thought I was in trouble or something but it turns out he just wanted to watch me do it! Scoped it last weekend but was by myself and didn't want to risk being left out in the cold if I bit it. Still looks nice. I'll try to get some video next time out there. Lots of blow down at St Ed's right now. Some blocking the gulley with the jump at top.
