I've been trying to take a few "scenery" shots with my new camera, but it doesnt seem to be working.
I've been playing around with the shutter speed, and thats a pretty cool effect, but everything other than the lights is still blurry.:(
I'm getting a tripod soon, so that will make it more steady, but is there somthing I'm doing wrong?
I like Steve's pictures where the street lights have a cool effect and everything else is perfect.
Thanks,
Cameron
And btw, its a HP PS 935 5.3 MP with 21x Optical Zoom:)
Heres a pic I just took, and dont flame please :( I'm trying at it!

he used a tripod, or rested it his camera on the overpass above the lions gate. If its not that long of an exposure you can get away with a mono-pod. basically your legs and the mono-pos make a tripod.

so steve, are you saying it would be ALOT cleaner if i just used a tripod?
Thanks,
Cameron

man get a tripod it makes a big diff even if u have sterdy hands
omg!!!
i thought u were in a car or something!!1
cam! you need to get some medication for your shaky hands;) and drink milk:P
or.. get proper tripod.
you dont see my shitty pics shake that bad:o
yes a tripod is manditory if you want your pics to look like diggs pics. If not, there is no way you can hold a digi camera still enough to prevent the ghosting in the dark.
holy fuck, 5.3 mp. PS take a picture of something neat that everyone cant see if they walk out their front door, get creative like steavo or fergs.

what shutter speed are you using for that light picture? I am going to go do some pictures at the Fat Tire race on sunday and I want to know what a few good shutter speeds are. I know that the fast is better for action pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated

ya definatly need a tri pod, but i can kind see what you were trying to capture. try just unfocusing the lens so you get a blurry shot maybe for next time.
:werd:
I actually took some scenery photos, there on slide show tabs though, i'll try and show you them

try taking a long exposure shot of some water flowing ina river or stream. or a waterfall. and use a rock to prop the camera or a tripod.

Try 1/500 1/1000 1/2000. 1/1000 would be your best bet.
NsMb FrEeRyDeR: A tripod is needed. I'm borrowing fegrs' until mine shows up. Mess around with the shutter speed and aperature, also the exposure. And don't be afraid to leave the comforts of your doorstep :)

Get creative. One of the first times I stayed in Paris I took a
15 second exposure of the moulin rouge. I just wedged the camera between a lightpost and myself, it was as crisp as toast.

how much are you zoomed in, that might have somthing to do with it too, the further you are zoomed in, the shakyier it will get. Play with the shutter speed, higher then 1/100th of a sec. should fix that problem

you should be perfectly fine with 1/125 without a flash. Anything higher is fine but make sure you've got a good reading before you fire off a bunch of pictures at 1/1000.
