pm me if you've had a black banshee scream stolen because it may have been recovered.
the police called me today and questioned me about my bike and are requesting some hard copy pictures to double check whether this bike they recovered is mine or not and whether its been repainted and swapped parts. right now it's black but it may have been repainted so they want to see some more pictures for my bike.
soooo if it hasnt been and you've had a black scream stolen i'll put you in touch with them asap. :)

Good man Cam!!
STUCK.
This is awesome. It really seems like people on here are working a lot harder than in the past to help sort out stolen gear. Keep it up guys, maybe we can get the upper hand on these situations!!

I'm in a similar situation.
I have to provide pictures and supporting evidence that I actually owned the bike stolen from me.
Sadly it sounds like none of the components are on the bike anymore but may be on other bikes which were seized at the same time.
If you've had a Silver BigHit FSR stolen it's worthwhile for you to contact the VPD (or let me know and I'll pass on the information to the VPD for you).

Its good to see that there is definetly a sense of brotherhood on this board. It makes me feel great to know that riders truly do have such a tight knit community. :D
good karma all around....

thanks for putting this up as a sticky.
i was able to provide pcitures and stuff of the bike with me on it and all that. so i mean, that had an effect on them. they seem genuinely out there to help and she refused to give up on seeing if this was my bike repainted. they were a little uneducated in bike technology and set ups but what can you do, they are definitely doing their job the best they can. i could tell that from on the phone.
i mail my hard copy photos to them tommorrow and hear back in a week or two if it's my bike.
furious, thanks tons for passing that info on to me. even if it turns out not to be mine (which im 99% sure is the case) it's still great knowing people remember.

Again, thanks go to CraigH for telling me to head over to MEC.
I was pretty excited to hear from the VPD that they are making progress, but I was getting madder and madder when I heard the guy describing the place where they seized the bikes from as a 'chop shop'. Knowing there's scum out there that stole my ride made me mad, but knowing that it's being stripped and built into a frankenbike for resale REALLY pisses me off.

You're welcome!
Keep up posted with what happens.
Actually, if you have the details on the other bikes recoverd, post them up here, maybe the other bike owners read this board?

good plan craigh, if i have time tommorrow in between work/richmond errand/boxing my bike up/going to north van i will defnitely stop by MEC and either copy the info down or snap some digi pictures of the pieces of paper for everyone to read. that's a good idea.
if they want more people to see try posting them in a local hunting and ammunition shop....now there's a place you should be posting some info.:thepimp:
