After rideing several diferent offerings from a fair number of companies, I've decided to go with the big hit. Here's my question. The bike comes with a jr T, and I was thinking about tradeing it out for a boxxer to save some weight and get a true thrue axal. What I'd like to know is how would the marzo to the first to boxxer offerings, can't afford the world cup. Has rock shok fixed the explodeing seal problem of last year? Has marzo fixed the damping on the jr T? Any how that's the kind of stuf I'd like to know.

P.S. If it helps I'm about 5'7'' 150 lbs and ride in a point and shoot fashon. Thanks for your help

I'd stay away from a boxxer. But then again, I like to keep the oil INSIDE my fork.

Give a Sherman Slider + a look see for the 7" realm of forks. That and the Marzo Super T.

Just my $.03

Manitou?
The Boxxer Race is a decent fork for the $, but it's not that great. Spending more for a Team or WC would be a waste of $ IMO when there are better forks for the $ available from Marz & Manitou.
I'd trade it for a Slider.

Anyone have a chance to ride the 04 Big Hit Comp? Is the 6" DJ 2 just a dumbed down version of the Z150 or really an extended travel DJ 2?

Personally I thought Specialized would have bucked up this year a put JR Ts on the Comp and Supers on the Expert.

Oh well :(

i'd take the boXXer over a jr-T... but get a Team at least... its worth the price jump...

but i'd rather have the Sherman Slider+ over both...

and the Slider+ is super affordable...

def. check it out...

as a bonus u ge the stiffest throu-axle design out there....

the HEX-lok is massively stiff....:thepimp:

nahahahaa i would take a big hit over a norco. more progressive. feel nicer. THIS WHOLE 24 ONLY REAR DEAL IS BULLSHIT. thats my only beef :) a 24 only dh frame? hahaha

but that's a whole different debate ;)

bah... 24" rear rules the roost....

if i buy another frame that takes 24 or 26" rear, im still sticking to 24" ....

I agree Mr. Sunpeaks. My frame choices were the Big Hit DH, and the Scream. I went with the Scream because I could run a 26" rear. That was the major deciding factor. Versatility.

I didn't think people still wanted Boxxers anymore...

dude 24 rear is nothin compared to 26. i swapped to a 26" rear on my scr eam and it was the best thing i ever did. it rolls/rides so much nicer! feels more stable and whatever. if you're pissed off about acceleration up the ante on the front chainring at the same time or up your rear gearing.

i must say i enjoy the 26/24 on hardtails and always have

Nothing to fix.
It's not the Jr-T's fault it's not a Super-T:D

depends on what kinda stuff you ride, in terms of performance, if you do big hucks and abuse, stay with jrt. Small drops, go with boxxer.
but in terms on $, boxxer is a relatively high maintenance fork comparing to jrt, but it's not as bad as bac make it sound

I thought the Comp came with 130mm (5") DJ2 QR20s - it does in the UK...
