Just got my shock (jupiter 5R) from Risse!!!! It got held up at customs for a while.
Looks pretty nice. Can not wait to go for ride!!!!!! It feels nicer than the old vanilla R I took off, at least around the driveway, no time to really test it out yet.....
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to route the line so it looks a little better?

Forgot the pic
wouldnt the reservoir fit up inside the seatmast area ???
your location seems a bit prone to damage in case of a crash or branch snagging it....

Yeah I know, the location find of sucks....
I didn't want to loosen off the 'banjo' fitting to swivel the outlet to the resevoir as I didn't want to loose the N2.... this will have to do till I get a chance to try and move it and get the N2 topped up.....;)

o, ok. Good. Cuz if you were riding it like that, I'd have to arrest you and confescate your Risse for abuse:P

now how would the jupiter 5R ride on a banshee? or just stick with an avalanch?

If I was you I would stay with the Avy, I would have liked to out one on, but she no fit so good:rolleyes:
However the guys at Risse seem cool, they helped me out with the shipping, and they sold me all the tools to rebuild it and a assload of seals. Will have to wait and see how it lasts.

Wouldn't it be easier to turn the shock around??? Or does the direction matter? Anyway, make sure to give us a little review of it. Us VPS owners want to know how it works out.

so it won't fit here?
or would the shock crush it in that place?

i think your tire will hit it when using all your travel....
watch out...
Well you could easily find out when you're setting up the shock... Duh.

Take your spring off.
Rotate the shock so the hose fitting area is at the top.
Try some new locations for the piggy back.
Bottom out the back end in each case to ensure:
1) the piggy back doesn't make contact with anything
2) the hose doesn't get pinched anywhere.
It should be easy to figure something out. The current location on the seat stay is too vulnerable in a crash situation.

Turn the hose fitting so it's facing 180* from where it is now and put the rez right where Optional showed.....but not inside that hole if it doesn't fit...just strap sorta on top of that seat stay that is camo

Well I tried it in every position under the sun today, still anable to find something better.:( I tried to do it as I had drawn in my above post but it is imposible.
I now have it mounted so it sits under the LH chain stay and the routing of the line is a little better than before. It will have to do for now. Will post a pick when I get time.
Went for the first ride on it today, took me a while to get it set up, truth be told I think it could still use a little more tweaking. Brought it to Holeshot racing in Langley here and they topped the N2 up to 200 PSI.
Rode at the watershed and almost got bucked on the first little jump.... not enough rebound, once that I dialed that in it seemed pretty decent. I think I will be getting a larger spring for it as it set up now with a 450, although I didn't bottom it I think I will try and find a 500 or 550, althought the sag seems to be allright, but I had to turn it in about five times, which they say is okay (up to ten on this shock) Haven't had enough time to play with the compresion side yet.
I can't really descibe how it feels other than beter than the vanilla I took off of it. It feels more plush and more progresive wher the vanilla just felt 'hard'.
As a side note holeshot says that they can reduild your Vanilla (R plain or RC) so that is another option for you.
^ under the chainstays?
thats more vunerable to damage sometimes..
my shock lost Nitro charge, that hole shot racing, do they charge em up for free? or low fee?
i never saw a risse on a vps :thepimp:

No, unfortunatly not free. However they can change out that stupid little "puck" that fox uses on their inlets for the N2 to a shrader valve, making life a little easier.
