View Full Version : Single crown yay and nay
Woo hoo to Marzocchi/Norco for the warranty of my Shiver SC. Took a little while, but they came through in the end. Practically a brand new fork. Thanks to Westpoint too for making it as speedy a process as possible.
A little bad luck on my 04 Sherman Flick though. It's in for warranty already. It bottomed out way too easily. Looks like it's a problem with the internals.
The Sherman seems like a pretty well built fork. Anyone else with this problem?

I think retail is around $700.
C.C when u say it bottomed out to easy and was a problem, are u saying that the fork didnt respond to "tuning" ???
cuz perhaps it only needed a heavier spring or more/heavier oil???
:???:
keep us updated about your fork...

That's a negative on that. It was taken apart at the shop to be examined more closely. Apparently it's a problem with the internals. It was the shop's suggestion to send it in for warranty.

well, seeing as i have destroyed EVERY fork i have ever owned, i am rigid now..and i also have a rigid cromoly fork off of a trek bruiser in my p-2...waiting for marz to send back my dj1....gotta get used to the non boinger thing ...i would go dc fork to be honest...depends on the type of riding you do, im thinking about a dc shiver for my p-2...or maybe a sherman......i really dont want all the bulk of a dc but i may need it....
rigid ss bike from hell........

CC. did it stiffen up and have the travel not move anymore? If so there have been a few forks to do that here in Calgary and the reason explained was some form of a hydraulic lock out that they blamed on bottoming out the fork too many times, too hard. Get the stiff springs and you shouldn't have a problem with it.
And if the rebound just kinda blew, well I don't have a solution for that one, but it happened to me too, although mine took me 4 months to do, but that's the only problem I've ever had with my forks so I'm not about to complain.

Basically, it never felt that good since it was new. I thought it just needed time to be broken in. I've had it for a couple of months. It's actually seen limited use as I usually ride the Toy.
I can't quite explain what is wrong with the internals as I never took it apart. It feels like the equivalent of riding a fork with not enough oil....too soft, bottoms easily.
and the oil level/spring rate were correct???
anyways im sure James@OGC will get it sorted... which shop did u deal with ???

Yep, oil level was fine. Spring rate was the stock spring...which is medium I believe. That's the problem. It's not oil or spring rate related. I've been reassured that it's going to be sorted out quickly.
sweet....
good to hear...
def. post up what was wrong... it would be good info to know...for future reference...;)

that happened ot my fork second ride......
it bottomed out. locked up. oil spewing everywhere. and apparently it popped my bushings up a bit. so i got all this shit replaced. took OGC like....4 days. did it for free. so no complaints!
