hey all, i've just been kicking around looking for a fully frame(team dh or shore?), or built one (03 aline?) and was curious to those who own a norco vps or have ever ridden one, what is a medium like? is there much difference from a small? i'm 6'4" and really like a tighter fitting bike, but nothing too small.. just coming from bmx i like a bike that i can get close to.. i heard that they are pretty big bikes, is that true? thanks a lot!!! :)

the only difference between the sizes is the seat mast(top tube length), eveything is pretty much same, i'm pretty sure about this for the older(2002) frames, but not 100" sure on the newer style monocoque frames.

i think a large or maybe even a medium will fit you, small would be pretty cramped.
i'm not sure how tall i am, but i'm guessing around 5'7 or 5'8, and i used to ride a large Atomik no problem.

I ride a large '02 Launch and I am 6'6". I find it a little cramped after ridding my 23" XC bike, but I still love it!!

I think that you would fit right in for a Medium.

The 2003 bikes (Shore, Race, Team NS) are sized with different sized monocoque frames and seat masts (2 pieces both unique to each size) which was new for 2003. The 2002 and earlier were sized based on seat mast. The 2004 DH, Team, Shore, A Line will also have the new sizing features.

I am 5'11" and have a Medium 2003 Team NS. It fits me perfect. My gf is maybe 5'7" and she has a small 2003 Shore...which is too small for me.

Hope that helps!

I am currently riding a large 03 shore and am 6'2". This is a smaller frame than my previous cannondale large 03 gemini. I think the smaller frame for me feels better. If you plan on pedalling this bike at all the large is probably the right size for you.

Agreed, a Large(21" seat tube and ~ 24 TT) should be perfect for you at 6'4".

I'm 5'11 and love my small 2002 shore.
i've spent alot of time on a medium, and i can say that the small feels perfect for me.of course, that isn't much help seeing as to how you're almost a half foot taller than me!

i'm 5'6 and love my medium 2002 fluid, but the fluid is a totally different sized frame compared to the other VPS's

This is why I believe the Norco Six will be a bit hit :)

Regarding the VPS, to get the correct TT length the seat tube must be 19 - 21", but the Six offers the same TT length with great standover(17 - 18.5")

Looking good.

Check out the Large or XL 2004 Vps Six. I'm 5'11 on an A Line and it is great for me. I'd say 6'2 or bigger needs atleast a Large or Xl bike. the Six is in shops now, so check it...

Keep in mind you can't compare a small 2002 Shore to a small 2003 Shore, there is a significant difference due to the new frame design. The 03 is smaller.

SMALL. If you go bigger you'll regret it on a vps. No tmuch has changed.

The norco six is a great bike too.my friend just picked one up.he is 6è1 and got a large...the seatmast is actually the same hight as my size small shore, but the longer top tube just feels too weird after riding my small with the shorter top tube.
i figure for me anyways, that i like the shorter top tube on the vps,but it has a long-ish wheelbase which keeps it feeling stable at speed. i get the best of both worlds: short cockpit for easy hucking and a bit more stability at speed...
i love my bike:)
