Worth the extra over the Junior?

...and also is it silver or white? Just that I have a white frame and I'm a bit of a queen when it comes to things like that...

Thanks:D

IFO really likes his 04 Super T, but he does have a few issues with it.

I'm sure he'll be in son enough to provide the details.

the Super-T is def worth spending more on, over a Jr-T....

the upgrade in ride qulity is easily money well spent...

oh the Lowers are a flat Argent silver....they should match your White frame pretty well....

be aware the frt tire clearance is REALLY tiny thou...

what size tire u runing? or planning on running ?

i'll let u know if it "fits" ... that is with mud clearance....

Tires that DONT fit include:

Michelin comp32 2.8
Intense 26x2.7DH
Intense 26x2.7 909Sr

grrrrr...

Thanks... I've found a 2003 Super going 2nd hand. I think I'm gonna go for that.

Tyres should be ok 2.5 High Rollers on F219's...

IFO........those tires don't fit AT ALL, or with mud clearance?

The Mich 2.8 fits. Not a lot of mud clearance, but it fits and works just fine. I have one on my gf's 2003 Super T as we speak.

The rear end of many bikes often have little "mud clearance" when you put bigger tires on them.

Mud is a liquid based sludge. If it can't fit through, it will just fall off. No big deal.

Rock Storm
12-11-2003, 12:28 PM
so do 2.5 High Rollers fit?

corey@nsmb.com
12-11-2003, 12:36 PM
Well if a 2.8 fits, I'd be willing to put my money on a tire that is .3" smaller is going to fit. I'd even get crazy and speculate that a 2.0 would fit too!

2.5 high roller on a /03 super T should work, im not familure with that rim (F219).....not totally certain here either, but i think i've seen a 2.7 High Rolo fit aswell, not sure of rim though!!

my /03 Z1 FR had no problems with a 2.6 Gazzo Jr. on single tracks!!

yeah but not all tyres are sized the same...

oh its going on this 6" travel bike ; http://www.pinkbike.com/modules/photo/?op=view&image=132087

do you think it would be better than a Z150? oh and I already have 8" Hayes and Saint cranks.

Thanks

Thats a cool looking bike, what is it??

I'd go with the Super T, its a rad fork. Durable, solid, and nice performance, and easily adjustable.

Tis a handmade German bike similar to last years Norco Flow - where they got the idea from.

It's only 6" at the rear and I'm having a really hard time deciding Supers or Z150...

Any help would be much appreciated:D

ahhh......get both!!!

Good on ya getting off that rocksux fork!

Go with the Super if your gonna be mostly shuttling..

If you wnat to climb , do real tight technical, etc, the Z150 has the ETA climbing feature, and will give you better tight turning radius being sc, but that darn thing is about as heavy as a Super T anyway... so youu have no real weight benefit over the Super there, so...

I'm getting a 2002 Super T for 400 US .... never used:thepimp:

dual hscv carts , bolt on crows... better tire clearance.... just not 32 mil stanchions... oh well...

would there be a warrenty problem running 7" sex, im thinking the Z150 would suit the bike better!!

I'm from the UK - Want to ride DH, UK races, freeride, Les Arcs in the French Alps next summer, 8ft drops and bigish jumps etc...

I know the Z150 would be perfect but the 2003 Super T is the same price second hand and looks like a killer deal. If the Z150 will take all this then I'll wait for them (UK distributor being slow)...

btw the bike is out of warranty and the website says its designed for both SC and DC but up to 150 fork travel is recommened...

while mud may be a liquid based, it'll eat away a frame or fork arch if run against it all the time...

just ask Furious about his Brodie...

hey have u got a pic of your GF's 03 super-T with the michy 2.8 ???

cuz your fork has less room then mine, adn mine was less then 2mm on each side....

:???:

lets see how close your 03 super-T runs that tire...;)

2mm is a more than enough clearance :D

i think that super.ts are way better than jr.t but i don't like the new 2004 marz ones(n the single crowns) i tried some from a shop and they felt horrible:( . i think they aren't as smooth as they were in 2002 and 03. except the shivers and monsters.
im sure ill get flamed for this but its only an opinion

we've covered this...

they need to be broken in, which takes a few rides to completely do. My 2003 Jr. T felt like sex on the second ride, but in the store, it felt kinda sticky. same thing, only the seals are apparently even tighter.

Break in period for a fork is more than about 5 minutes :)

Just got an email from Oliver Grossman (the bikes designer) and he reckons z150 is perfect - will any more kill the handling? I really want the DC's - but will an inch extra height make that much difference?

That's what I thought.....the arch is a scraper:lol:
As long as the tread doesn't goove the metal...it clears:cool:
But then, we don't really have mud up here:)

Depends on the bikes geometry to start with.
btw.....with some DC forks, you gain some travel, but also overall height.
Just something to be aware of...I have no idea on what is what height etc.

Rock Storm

The height difference between supers and z150s is 20mm

Yeah the tires do.
I was running an Intense on my 03 Super T, with no problems at all. They improved the clearance for the 04 Forks so they can fit most tires, with the exception of the 3" Gazzi, but who would want one of those?
