Ok, i`ve just spent the last 30mins using the search function to try and answer my question......to no avail.

I want to set my vertical drop out imperial up ss with an 8 speed chain.
My ratio is perfect but the chain is half a link too long.

`buy a half link..`----WHERE? can you give me the name of a shop that has one in stock right now.

`any bmx store`---I need a name and address.

I`m not able to pick one up in person, so i`m sending people who are not fluent in bicycle lingo to find one. So they simply need `go here, ask for this` instructions.

Are there 8 speed half links? Will a BMX/track half link work with an 8 speed?

The technical term for it is "cranked link".

Wipperman used to make them: http://www.connexchain.com/ (click on Connectors in the Products menu - they list one for their BMX chains)

Nope. BMX/track chains are fat (1/8"), 8-speed chains are narrow (3/32").
